Bus and trains also no need child seat 'cos public transport. Uber/Grab/Hitch/Grope/Hug..... all considered as private hire.

Such a funny explanation le. Maybe they need to wait for some incidence to happen again, then they will start to implement something. Like the lift.

As funny as it is and I do feel it's "funny", but think in broader sense....

 

Unless you are willing to carry a booster seat or full version of baby seat whenever you are taking public transport, maybe you can lobby the government for it. But, don't come here to complain later.... OK?

Lol. Maybe bus and train not easy to implement, but taxi should follow like private hire lo. Cause taxi afterall still consider a car.

Dont you think the reason given is lame? ie taxi no need to provide child seat because it is a public transport?

for private hire, they are on advance booking basis. Drivers and bookers have the means to plan accordingly.

 

So, when I read the news that some bookers accusing of private hire drivers not advising them that child seat is required, it's quite amusing. In fact, it should be the drivers that claim liquidated damages/dead fare from bookers for ride cancellation due to bookers not advising there's a child in advance.

 

Wouldn't this then apply to uber and grab as well?
