just wondering for home storage, is it better to use stretch film or this shrink film u mention?

no pro, so the stretch film is not always stretch tightly.. so thinking of using the stretch film....

comparing the two type.. which is stronger? protect better (from humidity)?

normally, do we need to re-film if the item was untouch and left on shelf for longer period (like 10 years)

Shrink film packing has good appearance and can last a long time so long as the surface is not punctured. I have some goods packed and still in the original shrink film for more than 12 years ( dead stock ). If done correctly the sealing is almost air tight - great way to fight dust, water moisture and silver worms.

Do you have a sealing strip aka the heat strip to seal the edges?

I had a portable battery operated one but it didn't last long so I used the good ol lighter :D

I use a table top sealing equipment. The heating wire come in two type, one for cut & seal and another flat type for sealing only

why still need sealing machine?

i thought it is like those stretch film? wrap it over item (but loosely).. cross wrap a few time then apply heat to shrink the film to create a air tight packing?

Wolf ah... the shrink wrap plastic comes in a roll. And you get 3 open edges (unsealed) when you wrap them right? How to not seal them? :D

Sorry all the while I thought you want to switch from stretch to shrink film. Yes I do use stretch film mainly to hold few cartons together for shipping. For storage, only for short period to cut out the dust.

Yes two ply - just like a sarong - you just have to cut to the length you want .Seal one end , slip the product in and seal the other end and the set up is ready for heating/shrinking.
