one dumb teksi uncle.

i dropped my phone at a cab before and i even got the receipt with the taxi reg plate.

in the end call up the taxi hotline and was told that the phone was not found and could have been taken by other passengers and close my case.

Likely you did not report police nor is a valued foreigner! So nothing much will be done.

Bro, money not like that wash one. One possible way is buy things which is within his means and sell it away with few dollars lost. By changing 1.1 million in casino wouldn't work. Out casino is link to Casino Regulatory Authority under SPF. CAD also under SPF. They will feed each other with information one.

hai...who say need to change 1.1million once off...can split into few k's so confirm wun trigger any alarm

what amazes me is that how can anyone forget to take an envelop filled with $1m in cash??

u mean when they got onto the cab then just threw the envelop on the seat and forgot abt it?? i would be hugging it for my dear life throughout the ride man...

another weird one is someone leaving behind 5KG of gold bars.. WTF man.

Ever had the situation where you drive worse when your dad is next to you monitoring every move you make, while you can drive fine on your own?

Maybe holding 1 mil stress them out so much they become flustered and forgetful.

the cabby is a wise man.

you don't steal money from someone who lugs around 1mil in an envelope.

he'll easily have 10k in a few envelopes to pass around to thugs to track you down and rearrange your family.

and i'm sure that fella must've been carrying half a dozen similar envelopes.

He dropped just one of them.

clean city we are. Washing capital of the world.

if the amt is just a few hundreds, and driver still return the $, then that's 100% true honesty.

in this case, amt is just too big for one to use freely, without being track\hunt down by the gov\thugs.

Let's put this into perspective.

Do you hug your wallet or iPhone when on the taxi?

If you do means u treasure it alot.

Do you hug your NTUC groceries on the taxi?

No right? It's just peanuts to you and lost, means lost loh...nothing great.

I can only guess, many of us are not at the carefree level of this Thai couple in terms of filthy rich is concern.

To them 1.1mil is likely to be $10 to many of us.

i suspect they bring the 'dirty' money to wash here......... just go to RWS or MBS, change to some chips, walk a few rounds, and change back to cash..... the money is washed clean......

wiped clean you mean... [rolleyes][rolleyes]

IIRC, when you present a $1,000 note to the bank, they will take down your IC number. denominations of $1,000 and above are tracked...

How are you ever going to spend it?

Bro, you remember wrongly. I deposited SGD1K notes quite a few times and they didn't ask for my IC, at least for POSB and DBS. The most recently was 2 months back.
