Redstorm 1st Gear November 25, 2012 Share November 25, 2012 In Sabah, the road conditions are not very good even in the KK and the towns. The so called highway is not like what you see in West Malaysia. Although they called it highway, it is actually like the West Malaysia coastal roads mostly with one lane on each side. Many people there use 4x4 especially when they travel frequently from town to town over thru plantations. I used to drive around whenever I visit my wife's hometown of Sandakan. Once I drove my mother-in-law to visit her birthplace of Lahat Datu using a friend's Toyota Land Cruiser. With the type of road conditions, it can be a challenge driving there. TandemAssassin 1st Gear November 25, 2012 Share November 25, 2012 Sabah is quite a scenic place to drive about. But the folks there tend to drive bigger cars with bigger capacity. Driving behaviour is better than SG or the big MY cities as traffic build up is only during peak hours in KK itself. Once you get out of KK, the roads are pretty smooth. Huh I thought the road condition and quality is reasonable, else I would not have the confidence to go over 100 in a van. Guess the laid back driving and friendlier drivers made a lot of diff too.
