Sosaria Twincharged November 16, 2012 Share November 16, 2012 (edited) Whatever postings that appear on internet forums here, regardless of their leanings, can we truly consider it to be a majority opinion?? Absolutely not. Of the large number of "wired" population here, many are youth who spend most of their time on social media, and very very few would actually surf socio-political forums. And of this number, even fewer would take the trouble to form opinions and post on these forums. So what looks like a "hot" topic discussed on forums, actually involves only a very small proportion of the population. To summarize, the influence or importance of the internet in guiding public opinion is quite limited - and usually over-hyped. 1fast1 Supersonic November 16, 2012 Share November 16, 2012 In China, they're called "50c brigade" because they're paid 50c a post. Here, they should be called "Peanut brigade" because they're paid peanuts. NKF-standard peanuts, that is. BTW, isn't this a "political thread"? Not that I feel there's anything wrong with that, but the mods may feel differently.

Not that I feel there's anything wrong with that, but the mods may feel differently. It depends on how the mods want to view it. There are two sides of a coin. Every time when we hear the term IB, some of us may not have heard about it or even those who heard of won't know what they do. Just like on History Channel, there's a documentary called "Inside" where they explore what goes on inside certain jobs. My title reads "Insight into .....", it just take a look into what goes on behind the scene on how these IBs work, it's neither political at all. If they wish to take it differently, so be it, it just reflects their one sided side of the coin and over-reactive. It'll just degrade the forum further where many of us will move on to other forums. Till then with all the slow moving threads, sponsors will also no longer be interested in sponsoring anymore. Just compare to the traffic and replies to the threads a year ago and now, you would have noticed it's moving slower with most of the lao jiaos banned. Bystander50 5th Gear November 17, 2012 Author Share November 17, 2012 If this is true, why newspaper people don want to shut down hwz? I thot sph owns hwz? Hwz is a crazy hot bed for anti garmen stuff Looking at who the top owner is, it will be easier for them to control HWZ in the long term. Once it's shut down, the people there will just migrate to other forums. Till then all control will be lost. SB is a good example, the trolls don't have any success there and the forum just thrive there. Recently there are people offering to buy up HWZ accounts for a fee, not sure if the buyers are from the IB.

IB is not just political....many commercial companies have their own IBs too to "create the hype" for their products.. I'm sure you met them once awhile within your FB page where friends tell you to like a certain group or page that you don't give a damn... I'm sure big companies like Apple would have their own IB... I remember reading somewhere that when Sony was promoting their Gran Turismo 5 in their forum, some jokers come talk about Microsoft Forza 3 and tell people to join some promotion...in the end exposed as Mircrosoft's IB (or it's it the other way round, can't remember) Anyway if you are talking about politics, I believe every political party have their own IB too, not just the Gahmen. In fact if you follow close enough you can spot these suspicious members even in MCF....lol..ok maybe not IB but staunch supporters..
