I always believe the Army can achieve training realistically and not subject the soldiers to unnecessary risk.

 

The key point of the overturned jeep is that it is being driven by someone not qualified to do so. Seat not worn just compound the risks further. Does inculcating wearing of seat belts reduce realism of training? In times of war, hope on the vehicle and go. That's just common sense.

 

And I don't understand why some folks are bashing the minister of defense. The Army has changed a lot these days. The very why more there are more deaths is because the Army is evolving from one that is covering things up to being transparent. In the past, it is not that there aren't soldiers dying or injured. It is a case of not being reported.

Bro. The pain is there, can feel for her, brought up a child from being in her for 9 months,

then growing up, being a child, teen, young adult, watching him grow, it's not something

one can just put down. I'm a parent myself, and I worry as well for the safety of my own boys

in the hands of some of the best idiots sometimes.

 

It's painful for a parent to loose ones own child.

This statement in red is very unwarranted. Not everyone in there is like that, nor have been.

I always say, being an ex-regular, it's not the organization that is bad, it's the few idiots who

spoil it. Something you have to get right in your mind. I served, and I left, empty handed,

unhappy as I was, it will remain WAS, I gained long standing friendships with my peers,

something a bond unachievable elsewhere.

 

We all gain from experience that THERE ARE such people, not all are like that. -_-

As a parent of a 5 yo boy I feel for her [:(]

 

Just hope that the powers that be seriously takes heed of these unfortunate deaths including Sarron's to devise new training methods or strictly ensure TSRs being complied with to prevent such incidents from happening.

 

All servicemen are precious and are loved ones of someone so rightfully the state must ensure their safety and well-being in general by hook or by crook.

I feel really sick hearing that the death were caused by commanders who didn't follow safety rules....To be, it is as good as murder!!! :angry:

 

SAF never change and learned its lesson, after so many reminders and accidents. The commanders take things for granted.

 

This remain me of the drunking of an NS at the commando training centre by 2 officers. They were later charged in a civilian court and jailed. Same for these 8 officers as well, they should be jailed as well.

I would have done the same if I were her.

 

Worse of all, it was due to someone's screw-up that the boy died. This is even more frustrating and unfair.

of course you are not like that la. that's why i said "some". Another incident - me and my buddy were digging trench during a defense exercise, we took a bit rest and show our tired face, one of the "rare" MF ichek came over and said this - "don't show you shack face la, if you have study better, you in be in the room like those commander!" My buddy damn TL want to throw some chanko at his face lol. Anyway best friendship were forged with fellow NS men not those regular.
