The quickest way to check for telltale sign by using a non-contact laser thermometer. Take the reading all four wheels and compare, any abnormal high reading one one wheel means the brake pad is taking too much load or getting very thin. If the temp is far too low, then chances the brake pad clearance is too wide or the slave hydraulic cylinder is not working correctly.

They did not invest in this simple item ,which was introduce into the US market way back in 1997 ,it's because they do know how to make use of this simple tester not because they are too poor to invest. By the way , a cheap unit cause less than 100 sin dollar.

Very troublesome to check the thickness. My 20 year old pick up truck from the day it was bought to the day it scrap never did anything to the drum brake. Somemore all 4 run on drum brake

 

 

OMG!!!!!!

 

20years neber chg brake shoes? Either nobody drive it or was driven without brakes. (shiver).
