Truth. And technically, with paddle shifters etc, its even easier to execute a drift if your car is setup for drifting. Removes the need or hassle of heel-toeing since you can use both foots now without a clutch to operate anymore.

Haha that I don't know cos i've not tried drifting.

Lol, are you saying that all taxi drivers are lousy driver?! :D Last time when taxi still using the manual crowd and cedric, everytime the ride never failed to give me headache and vomiting. [:p]

Diesel Crown and Cedric taxis have very sensitive accelerator pedals. The jerk that comes with badly-done gear changes is nothing compared to the way many taxi drivers step on and release the pedal every few seconds - I suppose that's what bothered you. My own diesel Cedric (similar to the old taxis) has one of the most sensitive accelerator pedals I've experienced, but I can't stand jerky driving, so it has become second nature to modulate it carefully enough to give myself and my passengers a smooth ride. But for taxi drivers who are on the road for more than 10 hours a day, driving smoothly is probably the last thing on their minds [laugh]

put it simply..

if an evo IX costs 80k

and an evo wagon costs 70k.

both can drive for the same number of years,

i will take the evo IX..

its not about the gears or anything

Evo wagon sure to cost more. And most people I know will definitely pick the wagon if you can really get it 10k cheaper for the same number of years left and same condition.

if the car gotta do a 3 pt turn, auto and manual transmission alike, got to shift into R also.

shifu, you wrote too chim till I don't under the stand. :D

Bad habit of mine, I have a habit of looking at what the driver in the car is doing  (small movements).

Yeah you are right.

Now you're just being a complete moron!

The car will spin out of control if it has a lousy driver like you behind the wheel.

You must be living in the stone age Mr Caveman.

Race cars has manual trannys in the past because it was the most efficient way of getting the power to the wheels.

Now there are auto trannys which can deliver power just as efficiently as manual trannys and shift faster as well.

Well unless you're drifting on a regular basis then maybe a manual is useful.

Besides in Japan, the Japanese have their own way with drifting with an auto tranny.

I can't be bothered about you. [knife]

Singapore roads are safer without drivers like you.

For those premium brands which come in default auto, yes manual ones need to be specially indented and probably cost more. For B&B cars, normally manual is cheaper.

Manual driver here, still enjoying it even though getting stuck in jams is no fun.

Most manual cars are cheaper to buy. Unless you are talking about brands like BMW or Merc. For B&B cars so far I haven't seen any where the manual is more expensive.
