Huh? Isn't it obvious?

The car is turning into my path. He stops right in front of me, I peep through the window and see that he is putting the stick into R (auto gear and manual gear very obvious)

[:/] Isn't that obvious enough? Of course if he is facing away from me or in the opposite lane, I can't spot right?

But if the driver nearly knock into me, I glare at him (or her) and see what they are doing...obvious enough?

believe most (if not all) would want a option with manual override style auto tranny (semi-auto if you would like to call it), the 3rd paddle can be tiring. chosen my ride in manual as the paddle shifter equipped 5eat sti is really cmi........................................ was so tempted to get the sst evo, but the design just does not seems right to me........... perhaps if c&c allow me to test drive i would probably have gotten the evo instead LOL

Haha!

For EVOs or WRX, can hear the driver revving the car to prevent it from stalling lor.

This guy is merely trying to find an excuse to hate on ATs.

EVOs or WRX got auto? That's not possible is it?

I sat in 2 ex colleague's car before.

One was a Mitsubishi Evo, and the other was a Honda Civic EG-6 (the exact same one in Initial D).

And I also rem the Honda nearly got stuck at hump coz they made the car so low.

With auto gear, possible?

many manual drivers will jerk a lot (either car jerk or driver body jerk) cause they never shift properly, even the revving is not controlled.

the only time i ever ride in a smooth (in ride and sound) manual car is in a Volvo driven by a private driver (full time driver) in Indonesia. His body actions also very smooth, no excessive body motion, left hand and elbow motion is compact (no elbows flying around like some drivers) never wear heavy watch/chains so there is no sound when he shift gears.

Auto cars also if never accelerate properly will become jerky and loud.

Its all about the driver...BUT auto cars are kinder to lousy drivers. A lousy driver in a manual car is hell. Can literally vomit.

Always manual, until my left knee got no more energy to depress the clutch.

Drove various cars before with the auto + manual override (Tip), the most recent is the 997 Carrara 4 Tip & new Hyundai i30. Started playing around with the manual override +/- buttons.. gave up after a few tries and left in full auto mode..nothing beats manual for pure driver involvement.

No comments on Double Clutches cuz never driven any before.

The way I see it manual accelerates and decelerates better than auto and as a consequence jerks. Why drive a munual if you want a smooth ride? Get an auto with torque converter if you want smooth. To replicate an auto with a manual seems a strange thing to do.

only 20% of cars in sg are manual and some are manuals becos they are so cheap there is no auto version.

So you are no more pussy than the 80%.

But the above survey says 70% prefer manual. So majority are in fact too pussy to admit their pussiness.

have not tried any 911 so not sure how it feel, but ever tried the boxster tip, well, do felt that the manual override tranny does not justified the badge...... the newer pdk should be better i suppose.....

driving a manual car is indeed rewarding at times, can scare the shyt out from the passenger LOL, and also gets tonnes of scolding from wifey.... but, the so call feel of pure driving involvement will be totally gone the moment miss shift happened, when rev limiter kicks in........

double clutch?? or r u referring to heel toe?? double clutch for non syncro manual tranny wor........

That's strange...I cannot imagine if they were racing and attempting to drift.

I think the car would spin out of control [:/] (please correct me if I am wrong, based on speed versus the velocity).

That's a reason why some cars are designed to have manual gear only, because the car owner will have control over the machine.

I used to drive a manual, and swore by it. Now I'm driving a car with DSG. After the initial novelty, nowadays I just put the gear shift to D and just drive.

I do appreciate the convenience, especially when negotiating steep ramps up some car parks. Manual is fun for twisting roads with very minimal traffic, but for city driving with start stop traffic, its a very painful experience literally. I have ever got stuck in such a bad jam that my left leg went numb by the time I reached home.
