Ruzbeh Seifi & Wong Kum Seng

The name Ruzbeh is common in Iran. Pronounced as "roozbay".

For Wong Kum Seng, he is none other than a typical tng lang kia.

The tng lang kia names sounds like a ex minister :D :D

So...

1. Has there been an apology yet?

2. Have the parents commented yet?

3. Have we heard who and why the parents are "big"?

4. Has the mall commented on what they are doing to stop this happening again (installing cameras in the breast feeding room?)

How else to monitor whether or not the correct people are in there? If security can monitor if teens go in via camera, then can chase them out what? :D[laugh][:p]

The issue at hand isn't about race.

It is whether this generation of school boys are being brought up to think that the world owes them a living, and that every of their action deserves a patronising explaination for every transgression. Don't they have a brain to think already at this age? Or must someone else use their brains for them because their rudimentary grey matter is only meant for PSP and computer games?

"I m also breastfeeding" and "That's more like it!!!". This attitude is provocative enough for the lady to record his actions. Notice how demanding and arrogant this tone and attitude is, even if it was clear that the room was meant for breastfeeding? Must people beg and explain ultra politely to get them to clear their mess and leave the room? And since when does the library official allows patrons to bring food and drinks and games to the library as claimed by Ruzbeh?

This kid expects to be kowtowed regardless of situation. This only comes from a family where the parents couldn't care less or have spoilt their child beyond redemption.

My last encounter with this sort of attitude comes from gangster kids in the 70s that are found loitering at video arcades and shopping malls. Kids who belong to gangster parents who collect protection money from shopkeepers in the mall. Unless the parents of these two chaps are present day gangsters and Ah longs. It is not surprising why Ruzbeh has the guts to challenge and threaten the lady. He really thinks his gangster parents are big and important people.

for those people who plead a less ignominious punishment for the instigator, just remember that the correcting mechanism for wayward behaviour(s) in society is a positive feedback system. At various points along the individual's growth in notoriety, various counter measures (punishments) comes along as part of the system's feedback to correct the individual, successive measures more punitive than the preceding ones.

Therefore if this current shaming exercise has come across as being too drastic, it is simply a reflection that previous/preceding corrections have failed to remedy the wayward behaviour. Ought we intervene to lessen the ignominy of this punishment? And risk letting this member of society deteriorate further?

I think the answer is clear. Let corrective justice exact its toll.

Youths refuse to budge from breastfeeding room and even show woman the finger

Two youths refused to budge when a STOMPer politely asked them to leave a breastfeeding room so that she could nurse her baby. One of them also started spewing vulgarities and showed her the finger.

In a video sent to STOMP, the STOMPer had repeatedly asked the youths to leave the room, but to no avail.

In one instance, one of the youths had replied, "Yes, we will leave the room," but remained seated and gave no intention of leaving.

He also seemed to have claimed that he was "breastfeeding his baby".

When the STOMPer told the youths that she would put the video up on the Internet, the same youth started hurling vulgarities and told her to go ahead.

He also laughed and showed her his middle finger.

In an email to STOMP early this morning (Nov 9), one of the youths had requested for the story to be removed because he is embarrassed.

Another new talking point. The strawberry generation living too good life and doesn't know what to do. This voice down to the reflection of what kind of family they came from. Monkey see monkey do. Don't blame this strawberry generation couple. Blame their parents.

In fact, I am not surprise to see this sort of behavior. Whenever you are in Singapore, whether in shopping malls, restaurants or playgrounds, is common to see parents busy with their respective iPad or phones, while their children left playing and iPads or phones. Seldom see proper interactions with their children. Hence, when they reach 6 yrs and above , their character and behavior takes shape and normal difficult to change them at the age onward. So the moral of the story is, "DO KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG" in the society. [shakehead] [shakehead] [shakehead]

Page 15 and going strong. This is a very good example for those who don't want their children to grow up to be. So have to teach them before 5 - 6 yrs old. [laugh] [laugh]

Bro, this is generalising too much already. Even in the old days, there are bad kids coming from perfectly decent parents as well.

Whatever it is, if the parents don't teach the children the lesson, the society will do it on their behalf, just like what we are witnessing here.
