Kazuo Neutral Newbie November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 Can always tether with the phone ma. I guess most people will have data plan for their phones. Of cos can, but troublesome ma. Furthermore, draining your phone battery to tether. Then buy extra battery for phone? Technically, a lot of things are possible. However, there's always a reason why people invent x-in-one, and why consumers go for x-in-one products.

Margaux Clutched November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 I bought a Nexus 7 and also own an ipad2. Reason because already own iphone and ipad so thinking for a change rather than always Apple. Noticed that surfing the web with Nexus is faster than ipad. Quite fun to play with especially free full version Angry BIRD. Apps wise not as much as Apple. 1 good reason is that I can just copy and paste video and MTV directly from my computer unlike Apple which requires to connect to iTunes which I find too troublesome. Get the Nexus 7, you wouldn't regret.

Elfenstar 3rd Gear November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 Hi folks, I need some advices on nexus 7. All along I'm using iPad and this is my first time looking into android tablet Wondering anyone has any info or use this tablet before. Is it worth considering or can totally forget it. Will use this pad purely for Internet, video streaming or gaming. Thks for sharing. Cheers I have one, and sold my ipad the day I got mine. No regrets. I definately don't miss the black border for some apps I use that didn't have ipad versions. I also don't miss having to wait for something to download before I can leave the screen. I do miss the side flipping Flipboard app though, flipping up on a phone is great, but doesn't feel so natural on a tablet, and the ipad does feel sturdier (can't be helped plastic vs aluminium back), but neither is a deal breaker. For surfing the net, the 7 is better simply because you can load a ton of pages which would cause Safari on my iPad to crash or hit the limit. I don't know if the page loading speed is faster or not since I usually just load up a bunch of webpages on the 7 then do something else and go back and look at them later. Beats the hell out of waiting for pages to load on the ipad (and the Reuters website is slow.... really slow). I've had no issues with video streaming on either. Youtube, Dailymotion all work fine. Gaming I can't help. I don't have any games on either of my Nexus's, and I didn't have any (bar one that one of our bro's here is a developer for, and that was just to support him) on the ipad. Most of the time though I use them the same way. Either as an ebook reader, RSS reader, and youtube streaming, or as an electronic file for what I used to print out when I'm out and about. Both worked great. The one change I've made is that other than two photo manipulation apps, I've shifted all my photo editing apps to the 7 because I can just beam the easily across via NFC. It was a pain to upload then download before I could edit on the ipad.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 More for home use as current 2 models do not have 3G. You need to know where you will usually use it. Not really. I had a data plan linked to my ipad. Didn't use squat so I cancelled it. Unless you use it for steaming or surfing the net while on the go, you don't really need a data plan for a tablet if your phone can tether. It's a bit harder on iOS, but for me it's just a one click affair.

Trex101 3rd Gear November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 (edited) How much is it selling in Spore? it cost A$239 here for the 16GB version Nexus7. Nexus4 will be launching soon on the 13Nov12, so expect the price of SGS III & Note 2 to drop as it's going for A$349 un-contract. http://www.youtube.com/embed/66-4uMQqerA Spec: 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB internal storage Edited November 6, 2012 by Trex101
