Complaint: Thomson Medical valet parking

I always avoid valet parking for a simple reason - They are not driving their own car so they won't give a damn.

 

 

MBS is one of the few place that u can't avoid. It might be interesting to see what this valet guy do to ur car when U entrust ur Veh to their care.

i valet park my car in thomson medical about 4 times already, no prob. and their parking using the lift system right? cos they have no lot so they use automated parking right?

i got try park in casino drop off there and kanna $24. I know my car look nice enough to be in this valet service along ferrari or bentley but one time is enough .

Had my newborn there and have a unpleasant experience yesterday.

 

Went there to bring my wife and baby back yesterday ( 2 Nov '12 ). As usual, carpark was crowded and have to opt for valet parking. Left instruction my car was keyless entry with push start. Wanted to explain how it works..the guys just brush it off no problem. Since its the 2nd time i use their service, i believe they may have experience.

 

Called back an hour later say steering wheel locked. ( i had a tiny tweak on the key system ). No problem, i went down thinking since its my fault for not explaining well. To my horror. I say my beige car seat (bottom) stained with pen inks and tear. Quickly moved the car away as i was blocking someone's car. Request to talked to the manager (Its a malay guy).

 

Came, took a look at my car.. says cannot be left by them. Many mistakes.

 

1) Told me all their guys dont put their pen behind their buttocks. (Then proceed to explain to me even if pen put behind also wont write on the seat.

 

I told him i very confirmed no markings before that.

 

2) I said fine, if you prove to me all your drivers pocket got no holes( since all their drivers wearing jeans, without holes in their pocket, it will be true that the pen wont

write)..i apologise to you. I treat it as my mistake. He laugh it out says fine, you go check lor.

 

3)Told me only got 2 drivers, one malay and 1 chinese. I checked the malay driver and politely apologised. Then checked the chinese guy. True enough, there was hole

on his pocket. The manager saw it and told me again blah blah cannot be lar. Now very angry, i saw the pen that the driver was holding, Told him i go write on my

seat now, if its the same ink, what you going to say. Again, he laugh it off saying not possible.

 

4) Went there, i really wrote on my seat. Proved to him, he again say any pen can do this, i told him you still want to deny, why not i send it to foresenic and check?

 

5) Gave me the WTF look, ask me go polish come back claim from him. I asked him, are you going to acknowledge the mistake, he still die die say i trying to fleece him

off and this was not the first time someone trying to fleece him. Tell me he himself driving a wrx( as if i care) and he very confirm leaving a pen on the buttocks wont

draw on the seat. i told him why not we put a penknife on the pocket see if it cuts the seats when sitting down. He still show me the angleof the buttocks when sitting

down, wont happen one lar. (His pocket is those very low type )

 

Decided to walk away. no point argueing. I am going to Thomson medical and stomp this. Actually, wont be so piss if he acknowlege the mistake and we move on from here, ( i believe i should be able to remove the stains, minus the small cut. ) What pisses me is i already showed him so many evidence and he still says i going to fleece him off.

 

1. Get his guy put a penknife in the back pocket

2. and drive his WRX over for inspection

Valet parking is sometimes at your own risk. TMC's carpark damn condemned so boh pian.

I use their valet too, no choice and I find it a hassle if they park it outside the coach parking cos need to take their ferry van, which is damn rough ride, they forget the cabin full of pregnant ladies??

 

Once I was casually reviewing my car cam, I caught them RED-HANDED from the cam that the bugger WOT my car max to the coach park on a rainy road.

I sua sua kee but I kept the video as evidence in case and will throw this in their face with disputes in the future.

IMO this don't like someone has a pen stuck in his back pocket but more likely intentionally vandalize the seat. Before you carry out any action just check if u any of your young passenger(nephew,children etc) did that. It is ink so It can be cleaned off. I think u can't do anything to valet they have exclusion clause to protect them

Not possible for your nephew's or children to do this unless you say you pass your car keys to the children when they say they want to play with your car. I think its on the driver seat.

I already gave them some benefit of doubt when I requested to check the back pocket. If really all no holes in their pocket.. I willing suck thumb and apologise. I had proven to manager that the pen protrudes out just nice on his back pocket, he quickly pull the pen out halfway from the bottom and says this is how a pen is placed in a pocket..(haha.. It's like u put your money halfway into a pocket trying to show people how much is inside) And though it's a standard stabilo pen.. It's too much of a coincidence. Especially it's such a big patch I would face noticed

I know the parking clause definitely favors them. What I am trying to do is raise awareness to all drivers here and stomp it to exert some pressure to the management to review the service. Whatever strong medical service they provide would be diminish by these little things. I would have let it go if the manager acknowledge the mistake and apologised. What I can't stand is the yaya face he gave

Just basing on the way the marks repeatedly run, it doesn't look like its accidental. How many times does a valet need to get in and out of your car? Once, twice at the most? That's assuming that it was the same valet. It could well have been the other valet being assigned to drive it and that would cut down the number of marks by half. And the culprit valet should it really be him, would really have to be super bochap to feel something sharp in his pocket poke a car seat to the extent of breaking the surface and still not do anything about it. Any normal person on accidentally breaking something, would stop doing it.

 

On the other hand, though, the angle does match a person getting in and out of the driver's seat.

 

Gotta say that this is a LLST situation - take some alcohol to try to erase the pen marks then leather conditioner to try to make it less noticeable. Too bad your seats don't look like they're from a sports car like Evo or WRX - people change to bucket seats and then you can buy their original seats.
