The woman just lost her children. She has no reason to lie. It's very sad how anybody can refused to help a woman who had 2 young kids... All he had to do was just open his door.

But I don't understand why is the woman doing outside on the road with 2 children in a hurricane storm despite the weather warning.

You don't know that she has no reason to lie. From the video, there is a whole terrace of houses there. I see no reason why she would wait and insist on this man's house instead of trying at the next house.

Guys, dont be too hash on the man. We never experienced hurricane here thus we many not know how terrible is that...Im not too sure what would i do if Im the man.... at such moment, everyone is in terrified. Door and window were sealed and nailed to prevent the debris (flying woods, stones & etc) smashing the windows and doors. To open his house, he got to take risk to remove all the safety precautions he made. All these for a strangers?? How many would do that??? Furthermore, the guy didnt know that there were 2 kids with her!!

To me, it is quite obvious that she is lying to cover something up.

 

If there is a heavy storm, would you carry 2 babies and hide for hours under a tree that doesn't seem to offer any shelter at all?

 

And after hours of hiding, would you suddenly decide to seek shelter at a house?

And after being rejected by the owner, would you try to break into the house instead of trying the next house just meters down the road?

The mom made the wrong call to be out during the Hurricane....

 

Prob in her anxiety, she could have reacted badly towards the owner, which caused him to think that she was trying to break into the house...

 

The man mentioned that no mention of the 2 kids but the person outside asked him to step out of the house... If I m stuck in my place during a disaster, and this stranger asked me to step out of the house without much explaining, I will b worried n scared.

Been reading some news articles on the event and there is some inconsistanacies over the timeline. Some reports seem to indicate the kids were already swept away by the time she went for help.

 

Apparently this woman gabra during the storm and tried to drive to her mum's house.

Hurricane yes must seal the door and window but it is three life standing right outside the door. If I was the owner I would open the door and let them in. How could anyone be a heartless to not give a lending hand. Hope that he can live this guilt throughout his life.

Talk is easy. During SARS all ppl needed to do was declare their travel history truthfully to stop the spread of disease and save lives and already got ppl lie.
