Reviving an old thread.

My HID bulb fused after barely 6 months. Friend of mine confirmed it.

Any recommendations for a place to have it replaced? What would be a fair price to pay for the bulb replacement?

Neutral Newbie

You can check out SGHID. Google it, they are selling HIDs bulbs at good price. I brought mine there, the quality not bad for the price.

Hi

I am a new member and cannot post new message.

I am very confused by this HID D2R thing.

My Honda Stream HID light is out. I have to confess that i know long ago that HID D2R, 6000K Philip is costly. However, i heard over the radio and someone said HID bulb should not cost very much. I have checked the price and it will cost me SGD 440 for 2 bulbs + $20 labour.

The mechanic told me that my 2007 Stream is the original type. The holder and everything is different. So have to get the Philip ones which cost 400 +. If i want the cheaper type, have to change the entire headlight case etc.

Can someone explain to me abit more ? Not that i don't trust the mechanic. But i just don't understand. After his explanation, he showed me the items. it is just 2 bulbs. So , is there any cheaper alternative or i have no choice but to part with 400 + ?

I ordered mine online from the UK. Free shipping and arrived here in 7 days and verified original as the new packaging has a sticker with two codes that you can key into Philips website to check.

You are advised to change both out at the same time so if you order 2, they tack on a 20% discount so both my Philips Vision D2Rs came in at $160 SGD total. I used www.powerbulbs.com but you can use other websites as well as some German websites that sell them cheaper like www.lichtex.de if you can read German.

I installed the bulbs myself (Forester 2.5XT) so saved on installation. Videos on YouTube helped.
