Speaking of which - go look at the Speights Coast to Coast if you want a really amazing endurance challenge

I guess this subaru challenge does prove a point - dangle a sizeable reward and there will be people willing to follow silly ideas just to win it. [;)]

The one who has strong BO or can fart every 10mins has advantage..... Others either endure his "weapons", or go home [laugh]

indeed... instead of just enduring, future contestant should engage in "mind games" to make their competitors give up on their own

BTW - Besides one throwaway line about being Namby Pamby, have I been dissing Singaporeans?

Have I been putting you down or just "shouting" about what makes me feel proud to be a New Zealander.

Go back and look carefully -

Yeah, the namby pamby comment was a rather tongue in check insult, playing off the many popular commentaries that Singapore is the "aircon nation".

The rest of it? 95% is talking about what makes me proud of what my nation has achieved - not insulting you.

And I have not called anyone in this thread any names.

Anyway, Singapore's impact on the world stage is something you can be proud of. Even if sporting talents still need to be imported

Loving a country, being pleased to be here, feeling a part of Singapore, enjoying it and wanting to make it a home and contribute doesn't mean that there is nothing about Singapore that I wouldn't like to improve.

It doesn't mean that some days I don't feel insane for choosing to live here, or that other days I think it is the best thing I have ever done.

For those of you that are married - are you telling me that your wife NEVER annoys you? That you never argue?

Why shouldn't I feel the same about Singapore

Unless you are telling me that you are so insecure that what some moron Kiwi says on a message board is going to hurt you? If that's the case, I have far more power than I ever thought

I do hope you understand that................we may argue and fight among ourselves..................but when being insulted as a nation..........most if not all fellow Singaporean will stand together against external forces..........this has nothing to do with who the gov is or if we are happy with the gov..............or if we are hurt by any words or action...........We serve national service...........and this is our country............we are Singaporean..........

There's no denying all that Singapore has achieved since independence, but by the same token, there's no denying that there was some powerful underlying advantages that helped along the way.

Not being an historian, I don't want to get into a debate on history - it would take too much research for me to give well reasoned and cogent answers.

Suffice is to say though, Singapore has pretty much ALWAYS been an important trade hub - it didn't suddenly start as a swamp on the day when independence was declared.

what powerful underlying advantges? SAY!

Not that easy... when the fingers move a bit out of the painted palms on the car, that's a disqualification...

got 2 warnings and 3rd time DQ...

For sure it is not easy. Just feel it will be more interesting if, on top of pure endurance, some real skills are involved [:)]
