Heng51 2nd Gear October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 Endurance challenges where contestants are active running, or eating, or making love etc. as long as possible makes sense, but standing there doing nothing much?! Only in spore Not that easy... when the fingers move a bit out of the painted palms on the car, that's a disqualification... got 2 warnings and 3rd time DQ... ↡ Advertisement

Kiario 5th Gear October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 Actually this is not entirely true, while Singapore did have challenges, it also had a number of very good advantages when it came to their development. You really should go and do some more reading. Along with Hong Kong, the Singapore harbour made it a natural to be a trade route between west and east, which was integral to its development. There is much more. And you think that New Zealand, being a pimple on the arse end of no-where didn't also face challenges? the so called good advantages of our harbour can be easily achieved by jb at half the cost, how far are they from us? and they are actually doing whatever they could to pull business away from us. it takes lotsa discipline and commtiment to assure all those shipping lines to continue using our ports, not just a so called good location between east and west. hk was different, with communist china not opening up, it was the natural place to go then. Darryn Turbocharged October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 There's no denying all that Singapore has achieved since independence, but by the same token, there's no denying that there was some powerful underlying advantages that helped along the way. Not being an historian, I don't want to get into a debate on history - it would take too much research for me to give well reasoned and cogent answers. Suffice is to say though, Singapore has pretty much ALWAYS been an important trade hub - it didn't suddenly start as a swamp on the day when independence was declared.
