My recent trip to Germany convinced me never to buy a "luxury" German car. Down there they use E200 new model as cab. 118i probably costs 20k euros there? If really die die need to drive BM, maybe a 2nd hand 3 series?

Turbocharged

seriously, unless you wants the brand. For 190K, I believe you can get a much bigger and more comfy car.

skoda octiva vRS

I think considering a BMW but asking others about the FC of this car and then questioning about re-mapping to increase the horses is very contradicting. [laugh]

Buy BMW = wants performance

Performance = high FC

Wants low FC but wants to re-map to increase horse power? [rolleyes]

The 1-er has a cheapo feel.

Steering is so detached, due to its low-rent electric power steering.

It just lost it ... the typical BMW steering feel no more!

Road & wind noise and window rattles seem to be a major bugbear among among owners of F10, F20 and F30, with no real solutions from BMW AG.

RFTs are still too hard and bumpy.

Best switch to normal tyres after purchase.

No spare tyre in boot makes trips to MY rather worrisome.

Doors (especially rear) do not have a solid feel /thud, when closed.

Anticipate Valvetronic phase timing issues within 3 years.

New auto-engine cutoff after stationary timeout feature had caused some ptoblems to dome owners.

Overall, not good choice IMHO.

Wait for Merc A-Class.

Or for a bit more $$$, get the Ford Focus ST!

118i is basic basic car, built quality is good and design is fine but dont expect anything better than a Honda Civic or a VW Golf. The Skoda as someone pointed is likely a better choice.

118i or the the 116i.

Good Fc car...my son driving one (116i)...very practical and suitable for daily driving....look good as well...a lot of function too...

which 4 door family car is not practical and not suitable for daily driving?

wat sort of function does the 116i have that other cars don't?

last but not least, i think the hyundai i30 looks better than the 118i or the 116i. :D
