20G 1st Gear October 25, 2012 Share October 25, 2012 Huh? For newer cars, you need to step on the brake pedals before you can start the engine. But the issue here is not about starting engine mah. It's about shifting to N to push the car manually. For older cars, you just need to depress the button on the gear lever to change gear. wat i meant was: if u wanted to shift the autogear car, u need to engage N fr P ma. so even if u step on the brake pedal w/o starting the engine, the gear level wun move rite? the older cars i hv driven oso need the engine started b4 we can shift the gear fr N or D. Aiya just hope that the joker drive a manual, then release handbrake can start pushing already There is an interlock that prevents accidently moving from P to N, BUT this can be over-ridden by pressing a separate button somewhere on the console. After waiting for a while, getting the mall to page for the owner, Just drove my car, gently nudge the blocking car out of the way and went off.... leaving the offending vehicle in an awkward position.
