Fireball0088 5th Gear October 26, 2012 Share October 26, 2012 Haha same experience but with the freshwater shrimps or what they called 大头虾. Caught many in one of the prawn fishing farms, brought them home and kept them in my aquarium which was empty at that time. Here was a shot I took after placing them in the tank: They tore up my mosses and the drfit wood but we did not eat them eventually and did a CNR some where instead... wow... you keep planted tanks too. i had that too until was too busy to cut and my tank became a forest. could have ask you to bring your shrimps over to trim for me

Pisces69 6th Gear October 26, 2012 Share October 26, 2012 used to fish them with my dad in certain part of singapore. seen a crocodile and i tried to fish it. my lure hooked on the crocodile.... but cant pull it in. luckily i managed to disloge my favourite lure out from the crocodile. Crocs were common in e hidden n isolated places we fished. Some quite big. Some anglers used to hook them wh very heavy tackle fr a good fight. The scary part is when i saw babies. That means those crocs were breeding in our reserviors.

Vulcann 6th Gear October 26, 2012 Share October 26, 2012 i even spotted a group of small baby toman with the mother.... Be careful. When I was young I tried to catch these cute orangy striped fries with nets in a large pond one time and got attacked by presumbly their p!ssed mummy. The 1m long bugger rammed my legs and it was a frightening experience . Managed to escape with a few of the babies though.

That means those crocs were breeding in our reserviors. really? i tried pulling but i guess my line was too weak cuz the crocodile didnt even move to me. it was swimming away. my first cast was very close to it's mouth. it tried to bite but luckily it missed. on the second cast, my lure got hook on the back and i tried to reel it in. no use at all. best part i asked my dad can i try to catch the croc, he said you can go ahead and try. (knowing that i wont be able to catch it....)

Vulcann 6th Gear October 26, 2012 Share October 26, 2012 I didnt know toman ate bread. Only carps we caught wh bread. Toman is usually lures or meat. We used earthworms last time and upgraded to chicken livers later. Few years back saw they used live catfishes to fish at Kranji Reservoir. They caught one monster and placed it inside an army groundsheeton the ground filled with water and tied all four sides to a tree. The proud owner played with it and held its gigantic head up which showed its huge sharp teeth. The scary part was when the monster snapped its jaws, there was a loud tud sound. Imagine placing your fingers inside... ↡ Advertisement
