Patience Clutched November 28, 2012 Share November 28, 2012 I thinking of installing 4 cameras but don't know if my car can take it. People might think I am crazy, however I spent quite a fair bit of time on the road and witnessing some Crazy stunts a driver can do and some angles which are not covered. The front video itself might help you or even harm u as full story of the accidents might not be captured especially those whom like to cut lane abruptly.. I think if ur front camera has wide angle lens, u shld be able to film those abrupt lane changes. Installing 4cameras isn't an issue. I think how u place the 2 side cameras is the main prob. If 4 cameras, I think it's better u get those external batt to support the all the cams or 2 cams. ↡ Advertisement

I'm as crazy as u too! haha I did look at buying small 720P car cams and put on either side of my dashboard, and running the power cable to the fuze box for power. Hv to be small cam la.. other too big like the Milo Can, will be ugly... I've heard got small side cams but cost abt 600 to install.. n those are only the 480P max cams (install in the wing mirrors I think) we can never be too sure or complacent.... Penyekz November 28, 2012 Share November 28, 2012 I think 1 camera is enough. Just a few years ago, we all survived without any cameras. A camera at the front with wide angle would suffice to cover you should there be an insurance or LTA dispute.

My frontal coverage is wide enough, coupled with my current back camera. Looking into attaching 2 more cameras to my A pillars to cover the side, had researched on those external battery... should be "do-able". I seen this setup before about 10 years ago in a ex-police officer cars running in external battery. No la.. you're not crazy.. I found one small 720p camera measuring 62cm x 32cm that look like a mini m203 grenade and cost about 45 USD. Decent enough.. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Carcam-car-.../585382304.html Penyekz True: Deriving some fun in this idea ..kakakak

QQDreamer 4th Gear November 29, 2012 Share November 29, 2012 I try my best to type but i dont gaurantee that when you read u can understand .the rule of thumb is to identify your car interior fuse box. from there u need to identify which is the hazzard light or audio light to connect up the power magic or ITV-80 uninterrupt power. After you identify, if you are installing only the front camera, you will need to conceal your wiring nicely on your A pilliar. You need to remove the rubber seals that is on your door frame. once remove the rubber seals, you can take out your A pillar casing. If you fuse box is underneath your steering wheel there you need to run the DVR cigar socket wires so that the power magic and un-interrupt power can be plug in together. Next will need to run the wiring nicely inside the A pillar and roof mat cushion. Dont have to pull too hard on the roof mat cushion, just hide it pushing the wires in the roof mat cushion. once these are done. install back the A pillar cover and your door seal. Make sure you follow the connection instruction from the power magic or ITV-80 un-interrupt power when connecting the wirings on the fuse. u need to remove the respective fuse and connect the wires on the power magic or ITV-80 to one of the fuse leg and than install back the fuse. Remember to do your grounding (black wire to a metal screw. You need to find anything that is metal to ground it. After all these have been done, check your DVR and wiring again and whether you satisfy with the DVR position, power magic or ITV80. I know is abit difficult to understand. Pardon me im trying my very best to explain the steps. If you are not a technical or hands-on person. please do not try. I am not respoonsible if your car break down by following this instructions. Last question, ITV has voltage setting from 11.6v to 12.2v (increment of 0.2v). How do I know which voltage level to set? If my battery has a voltage of 12.0v and I set the ITV to 11.6V, does it mean it will continue to charge till the car battery drop to 11.6v? How do I know which voltage level to set? bro i set mine to 11.8V. i more kia see. I hooked up front and rear camera. All along have been using 11.8V setting. No problem at all. If you plan to install rear camera let me know. Involves extra power magic or ITV80 and extra cable. Can be bought cheap cheap from Sim lim. but more things to dismantle. ↡ Advertisement
