"The NHTSA recently released a warning about getting your airbags replaced at a repair shop that doesn't sell for new cars - the replacements might be Chinese-made airbags that either don't inflate, or explode in your face." So....Don't look for cheap stuff for something really important.

Wah lau now I don't dare go genting becos of u. haha

Nut and bolt during maintenance can pick up and rusty or fatigue metal failure.

Air bag is basically explosive that will blow up and inflate the bag to cushion the impact. I think the fake one put too much explosive

Honda recalling cars to fix airbags that can kill drivers

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/money_co/2...ll-airbags.html

Honda has had four previous recalls dealing the same issue, which with this latest expansion includes more than 2.5 million vehicles in the U.S. The problem does not affect any vehicles newer than the 2003 model year.

Honda Recall 2010: Airbag Problems Add Another 437,000 Vehicles To Recall

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/10/h...g_n_456202.html

The company will replace the driver's side air bag inflator on the cars because they can deploy with too much pressure, causing the inflator to rupture and injure or kill the driver.

Honda Recalls 304,000 Cars Globally Over Air Bag Concerns

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011...r-bag-concerns/

The recall announced today by the Japanese automaker is the sixth recall since 2008 for the same problem, and brings the total number of cars recalled to nearly 2 million.

Honda Expands Air-Bag Recall to 833,000 Additional Vehicles

That action triggered an inquiry from N.H.T.S.A., which wanted to know why the automaker did not recall those vehicles earlier. However, the agency never took action against Honda.

Honda announces global recall for air-bag problems

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/honda-announ...-060904594.html

"Honda spokesman Hajime Kaneko said the cause for the latest recall was the use of incorrect material in the chemical used to deploy air bags. The initial cause of the recall was excessive moisture in the inflator propellant, which is part of what inflates the air bag."

Honda did not confirm if any "Chinese gunpowder" was used in those airbags [:p]
