Mpeng Neutral Newbie October 23, 2012 Share October 23, 2012 (edited) I am not sure if this is caused by weak battery. My car will jerk slightly when the vehicle is stationary at the traffic light, steeping on the brake. I tried to turn off the aircon and don't experience that jerk. Is this due to weak battery or ?? Does anyone have the same experience? Thanks Edited October 23, 2012 by Mpeng

Tcx607 4th Gear October 24, 2012 Share October 24, 2012 If you crank your starter motor at least twice to fire your engine in the morning, likelyhood your batt is almost end of life. Exception if your spark plug is above recommended mileage. Secondly, listen to the crank motor sound, a sluggish crank also indicate weak batt. Thirdly, if your batt is already more than 1.5yrs, it time to change

My car will jerk slightly when the vehicle is stationary at the traffic light, steeping on the brake. I tried to turn off the aircon and don't experience that jerk. Is this due to weak battery or ?? Does anyone have the same experience? Thanks It sounds more serious than weak battery... The car is under power for what ever reason. Perhaps the fuel or the air intake or the spark etc. Turn off aircon will draw less power from the engine... therefore no jerk. So, you need to bring your car to workshop. I suggest... TatteredTorn Clutched October 24, 2012 Share October 24, 2012 I dont think it's due to battery. Just send it to the workshop to have it checked. I think the power window mechanism is faulty. If you have problems cranking up your engine, then it's a sign of low batt :p ↡ Advertisement
