Any avid drinkers here? anyone knows any shops in singapore that sell sake, excluding NTUC or supermarkets..

I've recalled seeing some shops around before, just a handful as I remember it to be but my memory fails me. I can't remember where I've seen them.

Anyone knows of good places?

Much appreciate.

Have u tried Okinawa's awa-mo-re?

60 to >70% proof ... Japan's strongest sake.

Can be got here from the Okinawan restaurant at Tanglin Shopping Centre top floor ... among a few places.

Think Cold Storage sells them in the Jap section?

Another place possible is the Sukiyaki Fish market restaurant.

Orihara at Robertson walk, manager is Naoki, asst manager is Maria. If you are not sure, you tell them your taste they will help recommend.

They also have umeshu, not like Choya type, you will never go back to Choya if you tried the better umeshus.

Takeaway prices about 30% off the label price.

Is there a right way to enjoy Sake?

What abt Korean rice wine compare it with JAp

For me personally, just use a ceramic tea cup, slowly sip it off, ice cold.

Or warmed up if you prefer. Different types of sake for different foods if you play the complimenting game.

You can try Meidi-ya at Liang Court basement. That whole place is catered to Japanese groceries and stuff. They have a wide range of selection of everything.

Alternatively, I think the basement at Taka has quite a selection of Japanese sake too.

there is a shop on the B1 of Tampines One. They specialise in all Jap drinks. They have a good range of Jap biru to Sake, and other jap soft drink.

Cannot remember the name but is near the hair cut shop, near to the escalator coming down from Bakzer Inn
