Big blue leh. Sibeh heart pain.

it depends on how badly it is...

if it's big tear or incomplete, the bank will pay you a lesser value (eg give you $40 for a incomplete $50 note)

I thought as long as the legal tender is able to recognize and appear to be complete and is from 1 note the bank will change it for same value. Nvr heard of discounting the face value.

Last time not so troublesome. As nowadays plastic note not easy to be torn but can still be damage by dryer or ironing the note [rolleyes]

I ever received $10 torn notes before. Usually I will stick them back neatly by scott-tape, then use it onto the Ezylink machine to top-up my MRT card. The machine can actually take it in, no problems at all!

One of the torn $10 I ever received was even completed torn into half but was attached back by scott-tape. I also used at the Ezylink machine... [laugh]

Can those ATM deposit machine accept torn notes? If can, just deposit the money into the bank rather than through the counter.

Works every time [laugh]

It depends. Some merchants/sellers receive the money are sharp to spot it and can reject it...and you could be left in a "situation"

I save myself the trouble. Just slot into the machine....

You need to go at their busiest time, so that they do not have time to look at the money. :D Even if they spotted it, just act blur that you also dont know and take back and give them another note lo.
