The manufacturer claims Tesla battery can last more than 500km per fully charged. Thats equivalent to most cars when fully topped up! and its is more cheaper to run if the claim is true.

But I think there is more to it than that, the jump he got is more than just engine - he has moved before you even hear the M5 start - the driver got a good jump

 

It has more to do with the engine. Electric motors have the largest amount of torque when they are stationary. As the RPM goes up, torque comes down. For gasoline engines, you need to rev up the RPM to get torque. Hence off the line, an electric car will always have the advantage.

No doubt very interesting car.. but Tesla in SG quite diff to mass market..ppl with their own landed property can charge their car.. but ppl in Condo/HDB will hav problems..

Yep. This is a concern for Tesla, but more so for Nissan Leaf and Mitsubitshi EV who are trying to go directly for the HDB and Condo crowd vs tesla who is going after the luxury pie.
