Thanks .. I feel abit cheated as I am not aware that autobacs price was with trade in and was only told so after paying and installation was done. The person showed me a poster in the shop. Wanted to keep the old unit which is a decent alphine 2-din if I do sell the car in future. Not sure whether there is any recourse. Just wanted to check whether lvrcar58 also trade in, so maybe I got a better case if he did not.

I did not have to trade in my old Blaupukt CD player as the salesman said it is worthless and asked me to keep just in case I want to sell my car. The total price I paid was 698 + 30 for installation.

So far I don't find any problem with the radio. The only thing I am not happy about is the GPS as mentioned in my earlier posts.

Just want to add that both the SD card slot and micro SD card slot are not well designed as they are in an awkward position for removing and installing of card. This is especially so for the micro SD card with GPS map info and background pictures storage. In fact I bought a tweezer just to make it easy to get the card out.

Lcvcar85, So far mine New York 800 nothing wrong with it. I always don't like autobac, there is no service and knowledge at all. When I get it done, the installer tell me the best position to fix the GPS antenna. If you hide it confirm signal weak. Mine very fast. Instead he tested every function step by step. Like how to save radio channel, Bluetooth pairing, iPod, DVD, and navigation. Thump up for the shop. If your gps antenna is weak you can pm me for his contact. He is very helpful guy and quite popular in Volkswagen forum. Was told autobac anyhow place the antenna in their convenient. No offend to autobac. Just my previous experience.

Neutral Newbie

Hi all,

Any of you guys know what's the max size of the USB and SD card to play on the HU? I tried a 64GB USB thumb drive and nothing came up. I have formatted it to the FAT32 formatted as required by the system.

Also, any one experience problem connecting bluetooth using Samsung android phone?? I got disconnected after switching off the car. When the HU is switched on, it is not paired automatically.

Any ideas??

Yes! I have the same experience. I tried abit of experimenting... Seem that it does not affect stations that do not offer rds, like 89.3. For those with, like 933, you can try to select europe(lw) as the radio region then make sure the 'TA' word is not highlighted and 'AF' is highlighted. This is the best so far for me, tho there is still a abit of fluctuation in volume. I'm going to drop blaupunkt an email soon to find out the exact cause.

Thanks. I called up and the autobacs guy say I can have my old player back. I wonder why they claim I need to trade in in the first place

Hi thanks for the info. Agree that the service standard at Autobac could be better. I would really like the contact for the solution to the GPS slow response problem which you said is due to antenna not properly placed. Can email me at [email protected]? Thanks

Sorry not sure about max size of SD card as I just used a 16 GB card only.

As for Bluetooth I have managed to pair up my Lumia 820 with it and so far seldom used but the few times I tried no problem at all in connecting.

Went down to Carpro at kaki bukit to see Wenda to get my NY800 GPS antenna moved to below the window rather than hidden in the pillar. Excellent and professional service provided by Wenda at extremely reasonable charge.

Now my GPS can get a fix very quickly in about a minute if the car is stationary compared to the few minutes at least before.
