Nainar 1st Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 Came back from Thailand yesterday, driving in NSHW. Unusually large number of cars and between Penang ( 1:00 PM ) and KL I saw four accidents in the South direction alone causing a pile up. It was a nightmare near Slim River exit. Hog, dont hog what ever but that drive yesterday in NSHW towards south direction was not pleasant at all. Nainar ↡ Advertisement
Myxilplix Turbocharged February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 Generally Malaysians do hog too but, only in built up areas like nearing JB and KL but the rest of the way they generally giveway. There are exceptions of course for example and old uncle driving a Merc or some MPVs eg. Estima/Alphard will only give way if they see that you are persistent enough to want to overtake. Those speeding alphard/estima/vellfire know how to move out of the way once they notice that they cannot shake you off at their 170-180 pace. But better to follow behind cos they damn aggressive and good for clearing traffic out of the way.
Dlar2 Neutral Newbie February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 fark off from the right lane lah. very screw up. NSHW most of the time only 2 lanes. they travel at right lane with 110-120 speed n block up many cars. all the cars hv to overtake from the left, i stuck behind such idiots a few time on each trip . WTFFFFFFFFFFF I am a Singaporean and totally agree with you 100%. I had been plying the NSH for more than 11 years and typically those that hog are SG plate. Dont be surprised that 50% of so called spore plate are driven by malaysians, offsprings of malaydians or malaysians working or studying in spore. At old custom i often see malaysians driving spore cars but waving their passport to get thru. Its very very very frequent. The truw sporeans driving spore cars up north are still below 50%

They strongly believe that 73.8% of the rest are non thinking imbeciles. It is true that 3% of have no idea what they are typing. It is also very frequent. Have I mentioned the 60.1% yet? ins1dious Turbocharged February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 Last week at around 17:30, driving towards Changi on ECP, moderate traffic, lots of slow cars in 2nd lane. There I am, following another car doing about 100 on the 1st lane when a Vios tailgates me. Really close and at that speed as well. Where am I supposed to go huh? Slow moving cars doing 80-90 on 2nd lane and this persistent b------d is flashing me. So I tapped the brake. Didn't saw him again till I exited at Marine Parade. There he was in lane 3 still fighting to get ahead.

What he is saying is that we SHOULD NOT generalized all road hoggers on NSH to be Singaporeans. Many Malaysians (who are SPR) drives a SG plate and practice bad driving habits as well, whether they drive in SG or MY. I already said this in my post #13. I have ever encountered a Merc C Class cutting lanes from left to right to left, and reached behind me flash headlights at me, I didn't care about him and continue to drive 80km/h, he later overtake me on my right and zoom off! And that time, I was in lane 3 on the SLE !!!

Nainar I find that comparing MY drivers' behavior in terms of road hogging, those between KL / Ipoh to Butterworh vs those between JB n KL, the former drivers seem to road hog more. Anyone has the same observation?

Flyerking 3rd Gear February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 comment pls Its a common sight on NS highway and anywhere in Malaysia and Spore that Malaysia cars hog the road. I use the NS highway almost everyday in fact. The only best time to avoid road hoggers in Malaysia is to drive from 4-5am.
Flyerking 3rd Gear February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 Remind me of my friend driving an Audi A4 at there.First he highbeam one MY Gen2 although on his speedo alrdy shown 130 then again my friend overtake on that guy left with speed over 140-150 reaching 170 and out of sudden that Gen2 overtook him like a bigger cc car when his speedo shown 185 hahaha we was like wtf.The power of Malaysian vehicle I was driving around Sepang recently when a W-plated toyota yaris seem very happy to overtake me. He lost out to me initially when I signal to cut into his lane to turn right as I was a blur "tourist" there. After I turned into the main road and sped up slowly, I see him turning into the main road and trying to whack his throttle above 150km/hour to overtake me 500m down the main road. After that he slowed down and drive at leisurely speed of 90km/hour ( huh ?) City-drivers normally have this mentality. They can't lose. Drive proton or "small cars" is irrelevant. They want to make sure they dont lose out to "bigger" cars or " foreign-registered" cars. ( Note I dint say Malaysia drivers because that driver could be a sporean on w-plate )

Not worth the effort and the rage.
TVT Supercharged February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 comment pls Nothing to comment lah... just give and take, be it SG or MY plate cars, be it on our ECP or their NSH. If traffic is light just overtake him on the left, and drive on. ↡ Advertisement
