Neutral Newbie

There are 2 types.

85D23L - L = left

85D23R - R = right

The difference is the position of the positive and negative post.

Most cars are using L.

A few use R.

My Amaron died on me after 6mths. Car connected to carcam setup with parking mode. Still poor considering the stock battery lasted 1yr with same setting.

No more amaron for me. All died within 1.5-1.8 yrs. When died, didnt even give warning, just happily up lorry when it felt like it.

did the voltage drop along the way?

I thought Amaron provides 12 months' warranty?

Btw, first time using Amaron. It has been 51 months. When it was about 4 years old, I left the car parked for 9 days. On my return, it was still OK!

Forgot about the warranty.

Is your car connected to carcam? Maybe there are good n bad batches of amaron batteries. If tats the case then its a matter of poor quality control i.e. wider quality threshold for lower retail price

When install cam to use parking mode function and tapped to car battery, ensure it can auto shut down when battery drop to certain voltage. I set mine for 12.2V and sensitivity to impact to low, otherwise it will keep recording during heavy rain. I also realised the parking mode is getting shorter and shorter. Battery can't hold the charge as long as before, after 18mths of usage.

Mine has auto shutdown setup as what you mentioned. No warning and battery just died

Your carcam sucked battery power in parking mode.

When enough juice is taken from the battery, it goes flat.

When it's flat it cannot start the engine until it's charged full again.

It's not right to compare a flat battery, no matter what is the brand.

A flat battery is always a problem with those using their carcam in parked mode.

But they insist on using it, as it is their rights.

I say, if you insist, get ready for a flat battery.
