I'm surprised why it took them so long to consider it...........esp when the insurance companies complained about losing $$$ many years ago....... [furious]

Overcharging n cheating is already in e culture of doing biz in sg.

How long it takes or if its possible to clean up biz here we wait to see.

I guess only if we start to lose more n more biz cos of our bad reputation wil garmen step in n make new laws to clean up just like hk many yrs ago when their reputation bcame so bad.

But i dont see this in e near future.

The car workshop association only represent about 300+ out of the 2000 workshops in Spore. With such a small membership , I reckon it will be a uphill task for the association and case to get the shops to join the trust grouping. Maybe it will be better to start off by giving incentive for shops to joint the association and at the same time to re-organise the association to be run by full time professional personnel.

If they can pool a sizeable number of workshops to join for a start, and if the scheme is really effective and build a strong reputation, many people including the big customers (insurance) will join and this will either kill the rest or force them to join.
