What walkie talkies does SG taxi drivers use?

not that i know of .... my dad was a cabby for over 20 years, 2 uncles still driving ... never used any walkies .... nowadays, all in that little monitor they have in the front.

Definitely Motorola. those taxi co has repeater stations islandwide on the usage.

Exactly same as SAF motorola walkie talkie coverage - islandwide

 

I use Motorola GP328. Very good, clear and usage radius at least 5Km away.

These are use in marine sector.

Any idea which frquency range they are operating; read somewhere years back the yellow tops were using low band.

The taxi drivers used Motorola walkie talkie that looks like a HP. Are they using UHF too?

some yellow top taxis are still using the old (and reliable) VHF, i think its on 155Mhz (or some where around there)

 

most taxi drivers now use GRID, unreliable to be honest. used it for almost a year, gave up and used handphone instead.

its fine when its outdoor, but once i walk inside a container office... Bo Signal liao...

custom will check if not in approve list they will confiscate. need to write letter to get it back
