With stock display, I don't think I can even play videos, only music.

You are absolutely right. the Velosters here is an in-between combination of basic and style package offered in the U.S.

The stock display is only good for 5 things.

1. show u radio statio(in FM mode)

2. show u time and external temperature

3. show u what track playing (cd/mp3 mode)

4. show u ac controls and temperature

5. Acts as a reverse camera monitor.

 

that about it. no dvd, no video playback(even aux in), no navigatio n, no bluetooth, no mirrorlimk.

 

as i know it can only link up with iphone or ipod running software ver.4 and below. (i can't confirm this as i'm an android user).

Yeah... but i've learnt to accept the limitation and instead use a low profile 32GB thumbdrive to store all my mp3s (can use the car H.U and steering wheel controls to select songs) - even better cos no separate item to power up or charge. (only lack shuffle mode)

 

A google nexus 7 32G(3G) tablet mounted in the car for much more functions like Internet, Emails, Facebook, GPS Navigation, Youtube, Movies, Torque app and more... Its even better.

 

For the sound, i did doors and side panel soundproofing (the car already come with undercarriage soundclad), changed the all the speakers to Polk Audio DB series and installed 2 steelmate sw826 8inch underseat subwoofers for enhanced bass (dun wanna put sub box in the hatch cos i need the space) - so it's now a 6.2 speaker system.

 

Not high end set-up la but sound much much better than stock.

 

 

So now, i have no more complains about the car oredi. all tiny nagging about the car has been addressed - for now.

Quite a good deal. mine was $114999 (i initially signed in end May2012 for the N.A version at $108999 but then changed my mind to the VT in early September2012 and topped up $6K price difference).

 

Some who signed the papers for the VT in late Dec/Jan paid the most due to the high COE.

Its a very attractive price man .. considering that time when I was looking at it, it is priced at around 140k. If it was few months back then at this price, I would have gotten it.

 

Haha but I think if foreigners were to chance upon this thread, they will be laughing at how much we pay for our cars in SG :(

 

That aside, I just came back from Autobac Ubi and saw a matt grey VT. If the bro/sis happen to read this ... Awesome ride!!
