Anyone Encounter This Problem

I am currently driving a 2year old 09' batch Ody.

However I am facing some problems.

What happen is that intermittently my car will restart her current especially during stops (happens also when I am driving halfway too). The engine is still running did not die off so no need to restart, its just like the current shut itself off and on again.

Anyone encounter this issue?

On some occassions, when I start the car the whole car has no power and cannot start, after awhile the power comes back and can start the engine.

The alternator should be working fine as no issues with the charging as I have left the car standby for 2days and no problem starting the engine. Also the batt is only 8months old.

Thanks for the advise.

How do you tell that the current (you mean electrical power?) will shut itself off and on?

my audio shuts down, the engine light comes out for a split second, the headlights flickered, my car recorder shuts down, my charger stops charging and there is a slight jerk...

Do you have upgraded audio (ICE)?

Two possibilities:

1. Something electrical shorting out

2. Your engine almost stalled

3. Your alternator belt slipping?

Try:

1. Checking your fuses, see if any major fuse is shorting out

2. Get an OBD read-out of stored engine error codes, might be ignition system problem or fuel delivery system problem

If I'm not wrong it's the wiring assembly where you insert the key to turn on the ACC and ignition. There's a short circuit somewhere or a loose connection.

Did you recently install something like a DVR or onboard cam tapping the power source from there? Coz for some ppl they install in such a way when they on the ignition the cam will also be switched on.

my ICE was installed probably a year ago but this problem came out recently.. probably need to check the connection, but I was wondering why will trip the whole car circuit if lets say the connection of the ICE was an issue? Shouldn't the fuse take care of it?

Ok, I will go check out the proposed solutions. Thanks.. [:)]

Yup, I had installed a DVR but this connection is always live meaning not off. I am using the blackvue with magic box for auto power cut off. But I have installed over 6months already, could this issue comes back and haunt me after 6 months?

Probably I need to check all the connections again.

Thanks. Not sure if this issue will damage any circuit or ECU thou...
