China has never been a bully. If not because of US want to come back to Asia, this tension will not happen.

Whenever US goes, there will be conflict.

Really? So what about Tibet? [sly]

As a Chinese I will support China and condemn US and Japan's action.

That is the stupidest thing anyone can say/do. Its as stupid as our fellow singaporeans who vote based on if they are anti/pro PAP or anti/pro opposition, when we should vote on whose policies we want.

Well your opinion about Tibet has always been Western-centric so I don't think there is a point to argue about that here.

You do know that the Western argument about Tibet differs greatly from the Chinese version right?

So until we fully understand both sides of the argument, I don't think we should take sides. What I do know is: Tibet is in China/Central Asia. Tibet is not in North America. So this should be a problem that Asian boys should solve themselves, not American/European boys.

When u look at when is the island location then u will understand why. Japan is just outside china coast line.... It will endanger the whole China. Is more than pride is life and death. If happen to Singapore , it will do the same thing

If what you say is true, then why did China only start this farce AFTER there were indications that this area may have oil? [rolleyes]

Media speculate Xi injured in accident

There were a series of media reports saying that Chinese Vice President and presumptive future top leader Xi Jinping was injured in a traffic accident, barring him from some public functions.

Xi and He Guoqiang, who supervises discipline affairs in China, have been receiving medical treatments at Beijing's 301 Military Hospital after they were injured in two separate road accidents on the evening of Sept. 4, according to reports of Boxun, a U.S.-based citizen news website.

There were also reports in Hong Kong media about the accidents, sparking speculation and rumors that they were assassination attempts.

Xi, aged 59 and a new-generation leader in China, has been widely tipped to take over the top Communist post from General Secretary Hu Jintao at the Communist Party Congress expected to take place in October this year. Xi is also expected to take over national presidency in next March.

But there were rife rumors after Xi canceled a public appearance for a meeting with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sept. 5.

There were also unconfirmed reports that Xi was suffering from a painful spinal cord problem.

The media cited internal Beijing sources claiming that Xi was involved in a mysterious car accident in Beijing.

His vehicle was sandwiched by jeeps and Xi was said to have passed out during the collision before being rushed to Beijing's 301 Military Hospital with injuries.

According to the source, He Guoqiang, the secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, was involved in a separate road accident on the same night when a truck traveling at high speed hit his car from behind, causing it to turn over.

He also was rushed to the 301 Military Hospital and was said to be in a more critical condition.

There were rumors that the perpetrators could be military officers and supporters of Bo Xilai, former commerce minister and Chongqing party boss, who has been in detention for investigation concerning unspecified

I don't actually care for the western argument. Basically, China invaded Tibet, and when refuse to give control back even though most Tibetans don't want them there. Nuff said about bullying.

I don't think it is that stupid as you think.

Sometimes in life, we have no choice because how people treat us depends solely on the colour of our skin and our race.

Just ask those thousands of Arabs and Middle Easterners who, after 9-11, get regularly shafted in all aspects of life in the USA and Europe, SOLELY on the basis of their ethnic appearance.

Note: I don't say religion, because most of the time, Arabs and other Middle Easterners get faeces hurled at them by White people just because they appear to be Muslim. They do not wear their religion on their sleeves.

So if you can put two and two together, you'll have to admit how China performs on the international stage will have a direct impact on those of us ethnic Chinese who spend a lot of our time internationally, in Europe, in the States, in Australia, etc regardless of our nationality.

If you have to talk about that ( hsitory) then we have to go back to 640 to 690 A.D. That was Tang Dynasty

Then perhaps we should also give all of china back to mongolia since they essentially united the entire region.

China's history is complicated. It doesn't get much simpler than someone taking over a sovereign country and refusing to let go even though the people there don't want them.

Can see one or two posting seems to favour Jap over China. I dont understand why people always "wack" China whenever there is an issue but when other countries got issue, they just keep mum over it. It will be worst if it is a Chinese wack another chinese (nothing to do with nationality) and favouring Japs over it. We can forgive but never forget but from these postings some actually forgotten what the chinese (nothing to do with nationality again) has gone thru. That is why we have "Ah Qiat" who betray the chinese for foreigners.

Erm let's say got this Chinese guy beat the lights in his sporks car and killed a Jap girl. As a good Chinese, who should I support?

If one day Singapore and China had a diplomatic spat, where should my loyalties lie?

China is not the only "great" country who have been humiliated. At least they are resurgant now.

Greece, Egypt, Iran/Iraq all had their glory days too and they are still in sh1t.

No! China keep their profile low. In the past US put their attention towards terrorist and now they are shifting to against China so...

China have no choice to fight back.

I am not qualified to agree with nor dispute that, but it is written in all versions (including the Western interpretation) of Central Asian history that Tibet was part of the Chinese Empire, when China was under Mongol rule during the Yuan dynasty (13th century).

It is stupid. The reason that the Arabs and Middle Easterners get shafted is caused exactly by this kind of stupid mindset as well. It becomes an us versus them instead of people using their brains and basing their actions on logic and fact.

The Self Defense Force was always ready to be transformed into the Japanese Military, a full-fledged war machine.

They hoodwinked international observers everywhere but the PRC and Korea were always watching their development with wary eyes.

And sorry to say this: but every Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba etc product that was purchased in the world contributed directly to their slumbering war machine. The Japanese zaibatsu, industrial and financial business conglomerates, were fully loyal to imperial Japan during wartime and this is not going to change. It is deeply ingrained in their culture.

The average common Japanese folk are nice, friendly, accommodating and kind hearted during peace time. But I have no doubt every single one of them are fiercely loyal to their nation and culture, and if it is between you and them in a confrontation, trust me they will not be nice and friendly anymore.

Japs are barbaric in nature in my opinion...... if they are to ' transform ' back to wat they are in WW2, i doubt the prc are more hiong then them.......
