Hi guys, can any kind souls or experienced drivers comment on buying a COE Panamera 3.6? I have never driven a Porsche before so I have no idea about this car make at all. Also, looking at Audi R8 R-Tronic. I know they are quite different haha but these are the 2 I am looking at.

PS: I lean more towards Porsche. hehe

porche macan really comfort for the city use

If you and you whole family of max4 are under 1.7m tall, it would be just nice to fit i to a Macan, knees touching.

otherwise its a tad small as a family car. Great if you are single with no kids

I think 1.7m is a little optimistic. Ideally, Macan is more suitable for max 1.55m with bmi less than 22. The rear seats are good for passengers with no legs.

My wife has the 3.6 panamera, think around 2016 IIRC. Can let you test drive for $1k every 10km (petrol included), while offer lasts. Do let me know.

Hi all. Want to fulfill an automotive bucket list of mine.. thinking about getting a COE 997.2.

Have some qns here, hope to get some enlightenment:

1) PPI - how much would it cost typically from a specialist ext workshop?

2) Mileage - in local context, can it be trusted or can it be reclocked easily?

3) Viewing by appointment - does it mean the car is being sold via consignment (whereby owner set a floor price), and hence there is less room for nego in this tough climate?

4) Insur - ballpark figure for a mid-40s, male driver with 50% NCD?

5) Sports steering (with paddles) - is it worth it? If yes, can it be retrofitted and approximate cost?

6) Sharkwerkes x-pipes - would it fail inspection?

7) Maintenance - what to look our for in a COE 911? How much to budget typically in a year?

8 ) On SCM, they are typically going around 22k depre. What is a fair depre if I were to go ahead? On another note, would a COE 991.1 in the future, be of a similar depre (22k/yr) or not?

Thanks for reading. Happy motoring all and stay safe!

Just get it , cheap cheap. Nego big big, otherwise dont buy.

but please buy with full settlement in cash

such cars dont bother with loan. If need to loan to buy, then dont buy, means not ready.

insurance for me, profile similar to you was only $1200 but excess $5000

petrol is probably the heaviest expense. Expect 5km per liter. The other maintenance is slightly more than a Mercy or BMW.

Tyres probabLy the other heavier expense compared to normal cars about double.

Dont use aftermarket pipes hor, sure fail.

oh yah lastly the road tax will climb quite high....year by year

Hi Throttle2, knew you will reply.. haha. :D

"Cheap cheap" is relative.. yes I can settle in cash, but not sure if prudent during this uncertain times. But on the flip side, it makes me wanna YOLO, you get what I mean?

Really appreciate the insur, petrol, road tax and tyre tips. How long does your set lasts anyways? 25k km?

Oh ya, forgot that COE cars need to do annual inspection.

I supposed you have driven 997.2 vs 991.1 - what are your thoughts on them/differences?

Any ideas about my qns 1 & 2 above? Thanks again... cheerios.

If you cant easily settle full in cash, with lots more buffer, dont buy.

A YOLO porsche on loan is even less prudent.

997.2 is good choice..classic looks retained. More classic but still modern

yes tyres about 25000km normal driving.

whole set of 4 at least about $2500
