My area also got a lot of old folks and vagabonds.....once I saw someone wanted to pass $1.50 to a homeless woman but the old woman rejected it.....she wants more.......

I will still pick up 10cents if reachable in drain. One cent more means one cent richer..

depends. if need to remove grating / drain cover, dirty ur hands y touching sullied water (with phlegm, sewage), no nearby washin facility with soap, i think 20cts oso cant generate interest.

I remember when in primary school once my friend need to make a call home but we were all out of change, canteen and bookstore were closed,

we thought we should to check the drains. Indeed, there were quite a few scattered in the drain along the basketball court. Remove the metal grill and took a few.

 

That meant kids back then are also not bothered to pick up coins dropped in the drain. Or never realised coins have dropped. Wallet or pouch was not really popular back then because we carry less than $0.50 in the pocket in primary 1
