Picanto 3rd Gear September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/...907-370257.html SINGAPORE - Car repair shop-owners say they may be forced to raise prices of repairs after the implementation of the lemon law on Sept 1. Under the lemon law, if a product is found to be defective within six months of purchase, the seller is obliged to repair, replace, or refund the price. Wear and tear is not covered under the law. ↡ Advertisement

Hahaha. They want to sell a lemon and don't want to be responsible. The guarantee is covered by mnufacterer and not by them. It is the maker who will pay. That is why when there is major manufacturing flaw, manufacterers recall their cars.

Passion 5th Gear September 9, 2012 Share September 9, 2012 I think this is nonsense. Are they saying all along no warranty for parts change before lemon law kicks in? I mean all this should be factored in before anything. This is just excuses from workshop. Lousy workmanship just say so, dont go one big round and still shoot themselves in the feet. macrosszero Turbocharged September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 If they are a reliable trustworthy workshop then there should be no difference in prices before or after the lemon law kicked in because their standard of goods/services would not have changed in the least bit. If they become affected by lemon law and have to raise prices, then one should drive away (quickly).
Carnoob Supercharged September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 it's true some spare parts are not covered with warranty, especially if they are not using original or OEM parts. Some parts are only given 1 month warranty by the dealer which WS also no say... so under lemon law the 6 months supersede 1 month right? ↡ Advertisement
