Watwheels Supersonic September 5, 2012 Share September 5, 2012 (edited) That will depend on what car and what final drive ratio it's on. Let's say your car's stock setup let you cruise at 80km/h but on 3k-4k rpm that will be a dreadful environment to drive in, the noise the vibrations it will drive you nuts. Changing the final drive to a lower the rpm at cruising speed will be more comfortable and improve fuel economy but performance wise like acceleration will suffer. Especially those high performance cars design for track which is a pain to drive daily on normal roads, the owners will consider changing the final drive ratio. So the question to you is whether you are changing the final gear ratio for performance or for comfort? You cannot have both. A balance between the two...maybe, that will depend on what you can live with. Edited September 5, 2012 by Watwheels

Aeromania 1st Gear September 5, 2012 Share September 5, 2012 change higher FD will increase torque and acceleration but top speed will suffer. Not that u hit top speed everyday. FC will suffer too especially if u cruising on expressway coz rpm will be higher than usual too.
Dfx16 6th Gear September 5, 2012 Share September 5, 2012 (edited) FD dont increase torque and hp, it only shift the powerband n torque to lower end, dats where ur usable power is use to achieve a remarkable pick up I would say go for it, it's the best value for money performance mod Best pair with lighten flywheel and clutch Edited September 5, 2012 by Dfx16
