Yup. Ever since I have been taking bus, 167 existed. Always took to Orchard orShenton Way or Bukit Merah. It used to end at Sembawang Park bus terminal.

I think it is a big mistake to remove this service.

Nowadays it starts from Sun Plaza.

Sembawang MRT (NSL) is next to Sun Plaza.

I guess it is much faster to switch from NSL to TEL to get to Orchard Road & Shenton Way.

Don’t know what is the reason of removing this service? It is due to TEL. Anyway, think not the first time they mistakenly remove some bus services.

Think they like to make life difficult for people taking public transport.

They (LTA + Bus service provider) never consider the passengers who are taking the bus for shorter trips and passengers who are staying not so near the train lines.

I know most residents staying around Bukit Canberra area who usually take 167 to Chong Pang for marketing and other purposes. It was the most direct bus route. Now they have to take a bus or walk further to Sembawang MRT there to take another bus to Chong Pang.

Their decision is only one ..... no profit.. removed.

Convinient or not to those start away from mrt station is least important to them.

Everything is about profit in Singapore. This is how PAP operate.

They always want people to take more than one bus to get their destination, or walk further to take bus. Direct bus for short trip would never in their plan.

Bus service always loss making.

It is either more or less loss.

Anyway, Ppl who suggested these cancellations likely look at numbers rather than on the ground survey. Hard to get civil servants out of their office.

Since 1G already everything must be profit making

Bus company will not be happy.

Less line = less income.

Only LTA is happy.

Corporate...profit over everything. After 1 or 2 CSR event to tell the world, the company is contributing back to the society.

I think our MRT went thru an episode of such profit focused period, neglecting its maintenance until system faults starts appearing, impacting commuters. Govt quickly brought in a Mr Fix-It minister to address the many complains. I wonder if our 4G leaders still remember.  😁

I hope the new leaders understand some public services like utilities, medical, as well as public transport cannot be operated based totally on profit calculation. That's why many other countries' public buses is a money losing business. Governments that does not invest much on public transport will naturally see many motors and private cars on the road. Either way, people still need to commute.
