It resumes playing the last song on Ipod Nano and also on my USB thumb drive. It doesn't remember the Shuffle setting but then neither did the previous one. So for those of you suffering from the resume from first song issue, this module solves that. The software version looks like quite a major change so not sure what else was fixed in this one. Did you have to pay for this upgrade? ↡ Advertisement

Can provides details below how you ask Mazda to change it? 1) Who to contact? Hope I don't meet another SE saying it cannot be done. 2) Do we just ask for BT module change? Hope they know what I asking 3) Do you send your car just to change this module or during servicing? 4) How long it takes to change? 5) It takes 3 month for them to get this BT module into Singapore? Thanks again for the update! At the 1000km servicing, I mentioned the issues and had them log it. They then mentioned that they would check with Mazda Japan. In the interim, I sent them a replacement module part number that I found on the web but I mentioned that it could be for the US model. Just before my 5000km service, I asked again and they said that Mazda Japan said that the module number that I gave them does not apply to my car. So I sent them the US TSB, the Europe TSB and also mentioned that since Australian and NZ customers were reporting that they had gotten it changed, there must be a module available to us customers in Singapore. I also submitted the picture of my old module's firmware version for their reference. So 5000km came and went.... then I checked with them again at 6500km and they mentioned that a replacement module had arrived. So I just scheduled an appointment to get it changed. Took half a day but if you did it yourself, would only take like 5 mins. My service advisor did mention that a few others had got their module changed too so I don't think I'm the first one. So the whole process took about 3 months. Just call up Mazda and speak with your service advisor. Mention that you have the USB or Ipod song restart issue and it's related to the BT module. Or better yet, Mazda SG has a customer service section for people who have purchased their cars. Call them up and ask to speak with a customer service rep. Feedback here if you have issues contacting someone from that department.

It can out of sudden stop playing song and to rectify it, I need to off and on the engine. Turning off and back on doesn't help. The most annoying issue is not able to resume the last song play back f I'm USB. I will share the outcome here.

Ummm.... not sure what you mean by that. On my USB thumb drive, my songs are stored in folders according to genres like rock, alternative, jazz... etc... then I have sub-folders under each one with the specific album name. Eg. \Jazz\Thelonius Monk\... Even before the module change, I could get songs to play from either folders or sub-folders. Most of the time, my use case is that I just play randomly and choose to Shuffle with the single folder icon. The old module could not display Chinese characters if I'm streaming Cantonese or Chinese songs from Spotify over BT. I haven't tried it with the new module yet. I know that the FL version can display non-English characters of song titles.

Do you keep your music on a thumb drive or are you plugging your phone (with songs stored inside the phone) into the USB port? In my thumb drive, I can browse by Artiste, Songs, Genre.... etc. It still does not show Chinese characters via BT streaming from Spotify. Comes up as asterisks. Oh well... Thanks for the pricing. Pretty big hit when you change 4 tires every 2 years or so. I did ask Mazda and they mentioned that a possibility was for them to indent the tires from Japan. Never really pursued that line of inquiry further. Maybe I should... ↡ Advertisement
