I shared the same feeling with VenomMX.

Except that I knew where the car is going and what is going to happen to my car.

[bigcry][bigcry][bigcry]

Where did your car get exported to and how much did you get for it?

Scrapping my ride in 2 weeks time.

When will LTA refund the PARF rebate typically? I was told the cheque will only come in after scrap dealer "dispose" the vehicle as compared to "deregistering" it. This is for non-export cases.

Usually about2-4 weeks ... yeah they will only release PARF rebate once the scrap dealer gives proof of export/scrap. No cheque from LTA they will credit the amount to the bank account furnished by the registered owner. Do ensure that you update your details with LTA (relevant bank account etc)

Where do people send their expiring Lancers and Lancer Evolutions for export or breaking up?

Either used car dealers (most do scrapping/export) or direct to scrapyards (Sungei Kadut, Defu, Jurong Industrial area etc).

I would think tt there is a High demand for evo 9s overseas so alot of evos will be exported :)

Bro, before they scrap the car, the scrapyard will remove all the parts useable and then sell when people come searching for them. engine, suspension, lower arms etc. And to think that they only pay out that little. Damn I might as well keep the engine myself. Haha.

It is quite true that we can keep the engine if we have a private house, if not how are we going to store it, under our bed.

Further , the scrap yard dealer have to employ bangla to strip the whole car and store them .

If you need it , it is gold if not it's just"Chao ti

Scrapping my honda civic.  Called up two scrap company: Kiat Lee and Kheng Keng.  Both quote $100.  Real cheap.

Maybe this is the market rate?!

I can identify with how you felt  [bigcry]

Even though I didn't really like altis, it was with us for 10 years and was super reliable though it wasn't a "driver's car".

Grown to love it over the years, always appreciating how it started everyday w/o fail.

Been on many road trips up north with the car also, and had it in the family since i was in Sec sch when we bought it new. A special bond has developed over the last 10 years & I've become so accustomed to it that its hard to imagine life without that familiar sight in the carpark [bigcry]

Y'all ever get that feeling? Or am I the only one

the pic in this car not g9 corolla?

Hi any gurus,

I got a subaru dec 2006, still left 1 year. Omv is 14k, anyone knows if scrap now, what's the estimated amount??

Auto shops quoting 10-11k

Thanks

Really wondering why you people don't like to read through the pages to get the answers and choose the convenient way of posting again?

You want to know "scrap" value, you just log in to LTA and check. You get back PARF + remainder of COE and road tax.

What the prices dealers are offering now are not scrap value. They will basically buy your car and resell it. If you are changing car, I suggest trade-in to save the hassle. If you want a bit more for your car, sell it yourself. If your car condition is good a DEC 06 jap car should easily 6K+PARF = 15K

Totally agreed , my friend sold his car (left 4.5 months) on the same day he posted his ad @ sgcarmart.

Just scrapped my car today and want to share my experience.

A week before, I went to LTA to get a Transaction PIN. You can also apply online at onemotoring.

Took everything out of my car and went down to Kim Hock at 10 Benoi Road. Gave their office my IC, PIN, form D01 and the car keys. Took less than 10 mins to get it done. Take note that you can take out the head unit and it's still considered a complete vehicle. See photo:

After getting back the de-registration acknowledgment and $100 for the car body, you are good to go.

Once back in office, I apply online to encash my PARF and COE rebate. Very easy too, see photo.

Now just wait for LTA to refund the rebate into my bank account.

No hassle, only it's far out. Have to find your way home. Uber anyone? [laugh]

The Transaction PIN needs to obtain at least 1 week before scrap?

No need. If apply online then few days before. If go LTA office, straightaway can get.
