Good idea! But it may be hard to police when some innovative ADs would declare low base cost and high safety equipment cost in order to reduce ARF.

Its ard $160k bro, and TEK needs to indent one in for you. They do not keep stocks for it in SG anymore. 

And to make matter worse, the 2.5L CX5 now comes in 'Luxury' trim level only. The full spec 'Super Luxury' trim level is no longer imported into SG. Obviously that model will make the CX9 unsellable since specs wise it will be exactly the same as CX9. 

'Luxury' trim level is basically the 2L Premium with 19in wheels, sunroof and thats it. Important safety features eg Lane depature warning, Lane Keep Assist, AEB, pedestrian AEB are still not available in the local spec 2.5

At $160k, there are plenty of other choices that are either more powerful, more features, bigger in size or a combo of all.

Agreed. Anything beyond 110-120k, i would want/expect at least limited safety package nowadays.
I'm just saying that the 2.5L NA engine capacity seems to be adequate for most buyers in US. Most of them don't really want the 2.5T.

Changed a bit since I was shopping around. I was on the verge of buying a 2.5L Soul Red Luxury trim at the start of the year. On promo, it was going at $138k, for a the showroom model. 

At the time it made more sense to get the Super Luxury model over the Luxury, since it was only a few k more for more safety features. 

In any case, I strongly feel the 2L engine is simply too underpowered. It may not be an issue during every day, but it's irritating and frustrating when you need it.

Trying to overtake and you will feel the frustration, esp if your CX5 is loaded with another more than 2 pax onboard. 

High speed cruise will suffer also since the smaller 2L just doesn't have the hp to properly maintain the high speed. 

This is why big engines felt much calmer and smoother on NSHW vs a high strung tiny turbo engine.
