0wnage 2nd Gear January 4, 2016 Share January 4, 2016 (edited) Hi Thumbs up for the review. Few questions - In your review, you mentioned the CX-5 do not have door auto-lock? Does that mean the doors wont lock automatically after you get in or after you get out or both? What color choice did you get? What is the GPS brand which was installed? So far so good? Thanks again. The doors do not lock automatically when you drive off. There is no way to change this. They do lock if you walk away with the key (engine turned off) and all doors are closed. GPS comes with the MZD connect system in the car. Edited January 4, 2016 by 0wnage ↡ Advertisement
Mazdazee2016 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2016 Share February 27, 2016 Hi All, I just started on a CX5 week ago. Glad to have this car. Checked with the SE and he mentions that it is advisable to top up Grade 98 fuel. The Grade 95 fuel "will be a bit rough". Just to check anyone has the same understanding? Hi, Congrats and welcome to the family. As for the fuel, I have tried both 98 and 95. Seems no difference, maybe a little more power from 98, but could be mind trick. Please try it yourself, confirm ok with 95. I mix 50% of both sometimes. :)
Mazdazee2016 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2016 Share February 27, 2016 Thanks, buddy. BTW, have yet to find out how to switch off the radio. Is there a button to switch off or just auto off by switching off the engine power? Overall, I think this CUV is cool. Hope it does not pose the same issue I had with my previous Ford. Yearly event to change and cost more than $300.

Mazdazee2016 Neutral Newbie February 28, 2016 Share February 28, 2016 Thanks for the notes. Tried that, it appears more of a "mute" function that "off". Anyway, thanks for chiming in. Appreciate.

Finally this thread came alive again.....hahahaha Congratz on your new purchase! I do not think there is any significant difference, so far that I have tried. At some refuels, I managed to get better mileage with 95 than 98, but it could be due to some differences in the travel routes during those times. Will try to switch around again after my 10K servicing.
X5actor 4th Gear February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 I have seen more new CX-5s on the roads of late:) Yes, there is no "off" button to switch off the radio. You merely press the volume button to mute it. I'm still discovering the car and enjoying every drive:):) Cheers! And drive safe guys/girls

Redantckc 1st Gear February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 Good to know it is not just me who are looking at CX5. Review all said CX5 is a great car but there are so little on the SG road. Like to know if parts are hard to get or long waiting for CX5. Anyone know why not as many on the road than Harrier?

Like to know if parts are hard to get or long waiting for CX5. Anyone know why not as many on the road than Harrier? Harrier is perceived as a more atas brand. On the other hand, the good things about harrier is loaded with features which the CX-5 do not have eg electric tailgate, blind sport & lane departure warning (only the 2.5 variant have), rear aircon, just to name a few. But harrier with all its good stuff, do not even have electric parking brake which is a downer. And I have test driven both cars, I find Harrier very sluggish. Maybe it because of its weight. The Grade 95 fuel "will be a bit rough". Just to check anyone has the same understanding? That's odd... cause I remember Mazda could run on 92 so the SA recommending 98 for smooth ride is puzzling. My recommendation is to check the manual for the car.. it will state the min octane required. Harrier is perceived as a more atas brand. Harrier transmission is CVT so must change driving style... AutoTran can be more aggressive.. I like. hehe
