With traffic congestion on the road now stretching from before 7am to well after 9pm, the authorities should relook at OPC hours. Perhaps they can be allowed on the roads during the day from 10am to 4pm BUT they cannot be on the roads from 6am onward till 10am, and similarly frpm 4pm till 9pm.

the point of OPC is to restrict cars from driving during peak hrs.

7am to 7pm is the peak periods for most people.

Traffic congestion has been around for awhile. The opc folks must have considered that when they bought the car.

Actually, I am on the road all hours of the day.

From 10am to 4.30pm, all the roads are pretty smooth, including CTE.

The most annoying part of OPC is that they get to come onto the roads at 7pm and add to the evening rush hour congestion.

This is the problem of too much control and restrictions in Singapore. OPC scheme is a classic case. Another one is ERP.

You guys talk until macam opc owners dont pay tax at all and to the extend that they are not fit to be on the road. yes, pay less tax, obviously for the price of no being able to use it all the time.

Sure, the road tax bigger than a bull cartwheel. [laugh]

Anyway, the point is there are OPC owners who cheat and when caught, they said they forget. Oh please, govt already make it easy for the guys and give them until the next day 2359 to buy. What else they want? <_<

To me driving on SGP roads, peak periods are 24/7 [:p] [:p]

So looks like OPC owners should just park, wash and enjoy looking at their cars.....just joking [laugh] [laugh]

But I guess their numbers will fall drastically with time due to the recent car loans conditions and still high COEs.

Like I said, as long as it is within the rules that's all right, problem only arises when OPC drivers want to use but don't want to pay. Not all, but there are enough around.
