however, according to an unconfirmed source at twitter, a nurse who attended to him personally was saying to a friend that she dun think ah gong will live beyond NDP. so either must be you correct and she is lying or she knows things that you didn't know..

Actually the atmosphere at the NDP itself can be quite electrifying if you attend in person compared to watching on TV which one will not feel anything. I only attended once in my life and never went again because it is near impossible to get the tickets. But if got chance again, I really dun mind to go to immerse in the atmosphere.

 

Just like watching soccer from TV and at the National Stadium.Is totally different. I mean those time when we had Fandi,Abass, Edward,David Lee etc............with 50,000 spectators cheering for the lions during the Malaysia cup.

who gives a hoot abt the bronze medal that we bought? In fact what is so exciting abt the national parade in the first place.

 

Precisely. If it's a true born Singaporean winning it as in the case 50 years ago, then it's something worth celebrating. The more medals these ATs win just shows the world where majority of these people originate from. Might as well tell SSC to buy a football team and we make history in world cup.

 

NDP is the same old boring theme year after year.

Even the songs can't beat those of the 80s.

Dude, i may disagree with pap on some issues but that doesnt mean i am anti-singapore.

 

Progress comes at the expense of the people.

I don't really see much progress. Though we may be living more comfortably in nicer homes than the past generation, but as we "progress" we are living in smaller, more expensive homes. By right we should be living in bigger homes. The country may have progressed, more people are deeply in long term debt.

 

SG ain't the only country that has progressed, look at M'sia, PRC, Myanmar, Vietnam ....

I had the rare opportunity to attend one of the NDP more than a decade back. I don't feel the electrifying atmosphere you mentioned. My buddies don't too. We were cursing and swearing that the whole damm event does not take place at all coz we are the saikang warriors. Yes, we are spare from the worst saikang that can happen, esp those SIR guys have to deploy and roll back the canvas sheets after each rehearsal at the stadium. Countless weekends burn.

 

Even the sec sch kids are complaining to us. NDP is the easiest to sign extras. Too bad we are just at the wrong side. Anyway NDP is just an activity for some SAF personnels to be promoted.

He is not living alone.

He got childrens, friends, agents, servents, colleagues, international spies, etc observing his life.

It's totally rubbish to even suggest they are withholding the news. Paper cannot cover firs.

Much less it needs a concerted effort from every single one to keep quiet and not talk about it.

 

Let's enjoy the national day holiday as a day of celebration be it to celebrate the nations' 47th birthday or otherwise.
