If S can get KongHee parties to serve double the prison terms, many people will clap and support him.

You mean so many people want to see our country dive further into lawlessness?

I am just baffled why it has to take such a high profile case to identify the "lapse" in the penal code? so much so that a review of the code is "long over due" and "essential" as quoted by the Law Minister?

Is it that judges for this case is the top notch, lawyers representing the accused very "tok gong"?

What will happen to those whom had been sentenced wrongly or excessivley in the past?  Will they have a case for compensation?

My take is change the law as much as you do to deter future such cases. However those CHC people judged and done their times so totally not right to go after them again.

If law aren't the higher order in the country than who? Those sleeping on the job MP?

Future case law minister can suka suka revoke court decision?

The best part is even Malaysia has plugged the loophole. I wonder what has our law ministry been doing when other countries including Malaysia had already reformed the penal code? They don’t need a high profile case to prompt them to proactively change the law with the times.

The court also noted that in Malaysia, the legislature there has reformed its equivalent of Section 409 by specifically enacting a broad provision, tailored for the modern commercial context, which targets, among others, trustees, directors and managers or other officers of any company, club, partnership or association.

Even Malaysia is ahead of Singapore.

Money talks in every facet of one's life. Basically one can get away with even murder if he has the money to engage the best lawyer who just have to find one legal loophole.
