I had never claimed a tyre under warranty before in my years of driving. Many years ago, I bought Falken tyres GRB tune or something like that. Very good grip and reasonable price. Just a tad noisy. After running for a couple of months, the steel belt start to stick out of the rubber (very strange). So I went back to the tyre shop and claim on them. They say I must buy another tyre to get going then the faulty tyre they will "try" to claim for me. After many return visit to the tyre shop, they still tell me no answer yet. So where on earth got warranty on tyre? All BS and scare tactics. ↡ Advertisement

Germany manufacture should be more expensive than Japan. PS3 is cheaper because of PI. So it is worth to get PS3 as the products are the same. However I like RE001 a lot because of price vs performance. My guess is your PS2 has harden over time. Maybe my PS2s had hardened over time, but I still stand by my view that the RE001s are better Definitely more confidence in wet conditions. BTW, the PS2 rubbers are quite soft and edge wear is much more significant, and faster, than the RE001.

The RE001 has a more pronounced (lip) rim protector, than the PS2. Damaged my rims once, on PS2 ... went too close to the kerb. Zippaboy 4th Gear August 4, 2012 Author Share August 4, 2012 yup the sidewalls is indeed softer for the PS3 vs RE001/002. the PS3 sidewalls is rounded too.
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie August 10, 2012 Share August 10, 2012 I have used RE001, PS3 and I am now on RE002. In terms of dry grip, RE002 beats PS3. RE001 and PS3 are more or less similar. Steer response, RE002 is the winner. Even RE001 has better steering response compared to PS3. PS3 shines in wet performance. RE002 has improved wet performance over RE001. I have not put enough miles on it to compare with PS3. I feel that they may be on par. PS3 is definitely the quietest tyre among the 3. PS3 also absorb bumps better compared to both RE001 and RE002. Carbine- Clutched August 13, 2012 Share August 13, 2012 re002 win in the dry performance, wet performance, not alot would drive to the extend where they will flex the sidewalls.....
Zippaboy 4th Gear August 16, 2012 Author Share August 16, 2012 PS3 is quieter and slightly more comfortable than RE001. To be honest, i do regret taking PS3 instead of RE002. The ride have changed now. It is harder to corner fast now as the sidewalls are too soft. (even with higher PSI) Turn in is slower, Steering response not as good as RE001. (this is the killer for me) There is one particular road on the way home, i will always corner there. After a week having the tyres, i tried the left corner today. Understeered quite abit and veered quite close to the rightside kerb.

Thanks look around your driver's door frame or around the glove compartment. It should be written somewhere for your car model. ↡ Advertisement
