Calvin53 Neutral Newbie July 26, 2012 Share July 26, 2012 So here's my situation. The car i'm driving now is under my dad's name. Recently for the past 2 yrs, my dad's health got really bad. Now this is my question: What will happen to the car if my dad really pass away? What will happen to the ownership? ↡ Advertisement
Trafficwatch Clutched July 26, 2012 Share July 26, 2012 Can get the Death Cert and make an Transfer BUT MUST pay Transfer Fees. On top of that, you MIST be able to convince your Motor Insurance to transfer the NCD to your name (With Death Cert as supporting documents). Hope your Dad get well soon. Liping24cn Clutched July 26, 2012 Share July 26, 2012 Yes just do the transfer NOW immediately. The transfer fee is only $10, I think. The bank loan just have to talk to the bank to let them know your intention, call the car loan department and tell them your story. Go down to the car loan department of the bank, fill up some forms to transfer the loan liability to your name. Then you yourself go down to LTA, to fill up a form to do the transfer with your father's IC and yours. Only you need to go down to LTA, if not crowded, it's a five minutes transfer paper work!
