I didn't really compare. I bought the SJ4000 some years back at the time GoPro was quite expensive. I think the SJ4000 is more user friendly because it has got a small LCD behind for viewing. My setup uses a separate suction mount to one of the clip mounting that comes with it. This allows me to slide the SJ4000 in and out of the clip mounting easily for swapping microSD and storage in case parked in direct sunlight. Swapping microSDs takes about 15 secs from unmounting to mounting back again - a hassle if using the waterproof case.
