Right you are. I think many of these so-called "elites" and "successful" people feel really very empty inside. Aside from career success or academic success, there's little else to give much meaning to their lives. Besides work, there's not much else that they'd rather be doing.

At their high level, they have flexi-time, but other than work, what else can occupy them?? That's when their minds (and eyes) wander and start doing all this hanky-panky stuff, look for underage, fix up hidden camera, etc. Until they get caught.

Better these people cultivate a hobby or interest (lawful ones, okay?) so that they have something to concentrate on when not working.

Just to add on to this. Most of these people were from the branded schools, including this girl having special eye power. :D They have undermined the power of "Yi and Yang". Whether be it nature , animal or human, balance in environment and life are very important for well-being. These branded schools having been focusing too much on grades and very little on humanity or soft-side. Over the years, this is the results of the educational system. Time for these school to do some soul- searching. This system or society and created greed and frame, which people tend to look for. Instead, they should spend more of their flexible time to reflect and ways to help the poor and sick.

Over the years I have built great wealth through right investments and I think is time to start giving back to the society. I have spend most of my flexible time mainly on family activities and ways to help the sick and poor. And not forgetting social gathering with friends. Once you attained the balance of "Yi and Yang" in life, you are towards happiness. This also help to deflect away all these greeds (Corruptions/self-interest) and hankly pankly stuffs. I virtually have no time of all these stuffs.

The moral of this post, is to hope that those elites can follow to avoid these unnecessary sticky issues. Especially, you have been successful in life [:)]

Wow, such powerful words from a successful and wealthy bro! [thumbsup]

I guess I'll never be able to achieve the balance of Yi and Yang, cos I have no wealth and successes! [:(]

i think its yin and yang. yi and yang feels like some one finger kung-fu move.

the short story, imo, is:

girl fell in love with prof.

prof was cheapskate, took advantage of it.

Remember the word from IKEA ads years back? "You don't need to be rich to be smart". I have seem quite a few of average joe having such balance that I had associated with. They are happy people also. Wealth is nothing, if you do not know how to balance life. Now you can witness, so many of these elites ended up to?

i am sure if i am one of the CPIB officer, knowing that he was the former judge and stuff, I wouldnt do those things that tey had mentioned. because threatening works for those poor uneducated who cant fight their case. doing all these to a former judge = automatically lose your job.

Is this prof making up all the stories?

so many stories

Law prof was 'cruelly demoralised'

02/04/2013on mypaperby JOY FANG

'THREATENED': Tey Tsun Hang told the court that CPIB officers made threats against him.

The day he was arrested, National University of Singapore law professor Tey Tsun Hang said he was subjected to "name-calling and dehumanising remarks" by the authorities.

Giving a detailed account of what happened on April 2 last year, Tey said officers from the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) raided his home and office. During these events, he claimed they hurled vulgarities at him in Hokkien.

Tey, 41, was speaking yesterday at his sex-for-grades trial, after an adjournment of about two months. He faces six charges of corruptly obtaining gifts and sex from his former student, Ms Darinne Ko, 23, in exchange for improving her grades.

Tey, who is a Malaysian, is married to a Japanese woman and the couple have a 15-year-old daughter.

Taking the witness stand in the Subordinate Courts, he claimed that CPIB officers then made threats against him.

For instance, he said that officers threatened to "haul" his wife to CPIB, when she returned from an overseas trip, to show her his private correspondence and photographs.

He also claimed CPIB officers threatened to freeze the couple's bank accounts to "bleed them dry" and to revoke both their permanent residencies.

He said officers also told him that they had "lined up" three women who had confessed, and he should "save himself".

Tey, who demonstrated the officers' hand gestures with gusto, said he felt humiliated and "cruelly demoralised".

He claimed that CPIB officers who played "good cop" also asked him in a friendly way to confess to lighter charges.

Worries about his parents' health also added to his stress, he said. His father, who is wheelchair-bound, had recently undergone two brain operations as he suffered from accelerated dementia.

He also told the court that his mother had arrived in Singapore only in January last year and has been on long-term heart medication.

Tey takes the stand again today.
