i think CnC is getting worried abt the coe prices not coming down in time for launch that why increase price? according to their fb page, "1st batch sold out". wonder how true that is

Wow, $5k more. I saw the Rio when I was in Africa last week, and saw the Hyundai Accent as well. Looks good and should be interesting if it comes to Singapore.

booked a k3, looking forward to its arrival! the specs seem good, but just worried that cant find outside workshop who can service it since its so new. same engine n drivetrain as elantra though, maybe that'll help?

 

Normal servicing, most if not all workshops can do it whether its jap or kor or china cars.. So not to worry. Some conti would have a problem as every servicing need to reset something in the ECU and u need a special equipment for that.

thanks for the update! wonder if it's worth getting the guaranteed COE.. not sure how they would allocate the COEs they have successfully bidded for by July. like one bro mentioned, it would be odd to give to the 94999 buyers since the 89999 buyers booked earlier or some get n some dont.

that's true. C&C pretty smart. they try to lock you in for 5 years worth of servicing by voiding the 5 year warranty if you service outside right? but the cost savings over 5 years could be worth much more than the warranty replacement part if needed..

Oh is it? This is something I am not aware of. Meaning if within 5 years we go do servicing else where, bye bye to warranty....? Not wise to do so isn't it? If suay suay something big hit at year 4, then all the savings from other workshop may be wiped in one go...

today went down to ask SE about the K3 pre-order at $89,999

 

car not here yet so cannot see it in person, but the gadgets inside are really aplenty(compared to the sylphy 1.8 i see few weeks ago).

 

if the SE never smoke me, below are some of the specs,

 

1) omv is about $17k

2) 130 horses 6AT with paddle shifter

3) rear center aircon vent

4) rear floor is flat with knock down seats

5) electric seat memory and ventilation(cold & warm) for driver seat, front passenger is warm ventilated only(not tat useful)

6) reverse camera

7) 6 airbags

8) c/w 17 inch rims

9) first batch interior will only come in black with white leather seats(no go for those with kids), but i am sure they will bring in the other interior colors soon.

10) dual climate aircon

11) cruise control

12) front hid/led blab blab blab...

13) no sunroof but knowing c&c, they might bring in the sunroof version in later batches

 

they are pricing the coe at $40k, so any booking now is still with non-guarantee coe.

they are giving the option of placing a $5k deposit to prebook the car at 1.88 loan for 60% 5years.

if after seeing the car and not happy, can just take back the 5k deposit.

 

all in, compared to the slyphy 1.6 or even 1.8, this definitely seem like a much much better offer, i am really tempted more towards this k3 now although i might wait for the turbo version if there is one and also whether c&c will bring it in.

 

the only thing left is a test drive to compare the drive quality between the slyphy and this k3.

Spec is not bad. I would love to have some of these stuff on my car. If it came with rear camera, I suppose it also comes with LCD at center condole & Nav?

yup, small lcd panel in centre console but no nav system. gotta use own iphone google maps or get TOMTOM/GARMIN

went to the preview today for k3, looks much better in real life! am looking forward to its arrival in July. prices have climbed to $116k! anyone else booked one earlier too? heard from SE abt 100+ sold only, will be bringing in a lower spec model cos current spec model omv abt 18k+. pretty solid for a MIK car, feels better than MIT jap cars with loads more features

I was there too. I have booked mine earlier too. The price now and COE offset both increase by $18K. With the new offset at $67K, there is a chance the car will be cheaper if COE drops.

 

Went for test drive too, won't say it is powerful but is very good enough for SG road condition. Have a friend just bought a BM 3 series at $180K. Comparing the differences, doesn't justify the price gap except the show off part, I think K3 is a value buy.

 

What colour did you get?

ooh, i got the golden beat (dark bronze, similar to the grey one on display) cos it comes with brown interior, easier to maintain than the white one

 

as compared with its similarly priced rivals, i think it is good value

Tested it, pretty nice built car. At night, the rear lights look quite special.
